Haunted Mansion and Imagineering references on American Dad 11/7

Anyone else catch last night's Halloween themed episode of American Dad on Fox?

The basic premise was kicked off by a new neighbor moving in and impressing everyone with his Halloween decoration setup. The guy was a former Disney Imagineer (they even said "Imagineer" in dialog I believe) and wore a t-shirt with an altered version of the WDI Sorcerer Mickey hat logo. His house was mostly done up in generic theming and special effects, but there were a pair of projected holographic ghosts in the spitting images of Ezra and Phineas, two of the three Hitchhiking Ghosts (tall & skinny, short & pudgy respectively).

Thankfully, there weren't any of the cliche jabs at Disney. The closest was the guy remarking that since leaving his job, he can't do anything normally any more because his creativity is basically now overflowing.

The first bit is when Stan meets the guy and gets his back story, it's only a few minutes into the first act. You can just catch a glimpse of the "Ezra" ghost in the long shot iirc, that was the first thing I noticed actually.

The close-up of the ghost projections and their dialog is a bit further in. I want to say some time in the second act, but not sure.

Cool - I'm going to check it out tonight.

Oh - slightly (OK, a lot) off topic - I read today that Samantha Brown was in EPCOT over the weekend filming a new special to air in December. :sohappy:

This isn't the first reference to him being a former Disney Imagineer. In the first episode you meet him(when the Family thinks the world has come to an end and Stan Doesn't want to admit that he was wrong) He's living in the woods and they say this. But it is still pretty cool.

I love American Dad.

The HM references were great. Buckle's mailbox creation was hilarious.

Free ghost churros for the kids.
