The haunted mansion is old, needs a few updates, but putting in cheap cheesy 3D movies when the attraction is already LIVE is pointelss. The only thing I would change is the big spiders and the webs ascending the staricase... Those just don't erally go with the rest of the attraction.

First Sarcasm is one thing being mean spirted and rude it quite another. apparently you are not from my generstion and dont have common respect for someones ideas and have to cut them down to make you point and be a "hero" here.

second what is cheap or cheesy about the 3D effect. it seems you are refering to some other park that does it cheesy. or the only way they will do it was cheesy.

Third what it your reasoning as to why "the spiders and cobwebs on the stairsdont really belong with the rest of haunted mansion" last I heard abbandoned houses haunted or not attract spiders and they do create webs all over the place

Everyone is being too hard on you. I for one LOVE someone who has an imagination and can think up new and wonderful things. It's not like you're actually going to go into the HM tomorrow and destroy it. It's fun to think of new and imaginative things.

Finally someone who knows what my intention was. I also see your from my generational group and grew up with Disney when they were the standard that all others had to atain to play in this arena in the early days. This my nature , to come up with creative solutions to ideas. Now I am a big fan of haunted Mansion. I came up with my way I would tweek it to upgrade the technology. Someone on another thread called ma a Fanatic for wanting to keep the classic attractions that Walt designed and developed before his death. The Haunted mansion and 20K was my biggies that I wanted to keep in the original vain, since I didn't want to see a Nightmare Christmas Mansion ever for a permanant change. I'm not shure i'm keen on the change temporararly. I really appreciate your support since the others have missed my point

as for them cutting me down, all I have to say Goofeete is they have a problem accepting someones elses ideas, and have other issues they need to work out before they cut down my ideas.

....And I cant belive that Kaos being a WDWMagic contribitor would be so rude in his comments as well. I'll tell you goofeete young people have no respect for there elders anymore. I was at the pool today and some young kid was throwing a ball and pulled his arm back to throw and hit me in an inaproporate place and when i went to say something to him about watching what he was doing with others around his coment was"@#$% off" I wanted to spank this kid just like my parents did when I said bad words. any way thanks for the support and don't be a stranger.

I believe that you can renovate older attractions with new technology and still keep the original feel of that particular ride. Great idea for the Haunted Mansion! I really enjoy your posts, keep up the good work!

I think a 3d haunted mansion scene would be great. as you go toward the doom buggies you are handed a pair of goul goggles to let you see the gouls. have the glasses be like the IMAX kind so it would be clear and only activate them in a single area. for example you go through the room with the head in the crystal ball, now the room would be exactly like it is now, but there would be tiny screens that you wouldn't see and with the glasses on there could be things floating around the head or maybe books that would be flung at you. or maybe at the end of the ride when the goasts ride with you they could add a section where the gosts come flying at you the disappear and you see them in the mirror. the long hallway with the floating candles, the candles will float and then lunge at you only to disappear half way through. it would definitly add another eliment.

lol, ok, my joke isnt working.

The audio was simply made in sound recorder. I took the intro of Muppet Vision 3D and mixed it with the haunted mansion intro. So it started with Kermit:

"Hi-ho, and welcome to (cut) "THE HAUNTED MANSION (cut) 3D!"

I wonder why it isnt working

Thanks rick for your support. All I want to do is improve some of what may be out dated or old technology that could be improved. Like when Lucas reworked the original starwars, He wanted to do certin effects and the technology just wasn't invented or perfected enough in 76 when it was in production. This is along the same vain, I dont want to change it just tweek or expand on it.
Trust me when I say that I love WDW and what it has to offer especially MK. Since it was the only Park from my vacations there in the 70s and spent usually nine of the 14 days at MK exclusivly.

some of the recent attractions could not have existed 30 years ago with some of the recent technology only invented or in some cases Declassified from the military, like when walt had to wait for the technology used for the signaling system used in the orginal Tiki room from the sixties.


With the limited time I have lately due to me going back to school It may be a while before my next idea, But I'll keep them comming when I think of them.

I don`t know about 3D but I have always wated to see them"update" the Haunted mansion,in that I mean put in the New animatronics like they have in The Phantom Manor or Disneyland Tokyo! those are awesome almost life like!and if you want to see what imagineering can do just look at what this ex disney imagineer has done to his own yard!
