Haunted Mansion 3d

I couldnt sleep again last night and was musing myself and with the rumors of cameras and redressing the attraction for holloween ETC.

I came up with this Idea. I was reminding myself of my last trip to WDW in 93. was there for 16 days and the wife wanted to go to universal and there was a 3D attraction there that I saw that I cant rember what it was and I did the Muppet vision 3D as well when I want to the studios and thought the new 3D was much improved over the 50s version with the paper glasses with the red and blue lenses.

Also There was an IMAX film that I saw last summer at navy pier callled Haunted Castle 3D. it uses a 3D device that are more like safety goggles and receives IR signals from the transmitters mounted all around the theater to control the lenses in some fasion that I couldnr figure out.

Anyway my idea is a Haunted Mansion in 3D that would take the Technology( to quote emeril) up notches unknowen to man.

there would be new holographic images improving on Peppers ghost and more movement from the Animatronics to give you the effect of being more in the face so to speak. and redress the walls to come alive with the effect.

go to ther following link to see what I am talking about

I havent fleshed out all the details yet in my mind but one I came up with is that the floating objects in the hallways would be improved. I have enclosed the picture below of what it would look like

No the Haunted Mansion is not 3D. Mayby they can do it to
COP its a way to keep it and up date it to. Two the people
at Disney use your minds and make things that are old new
again:)

Awesome idea!!! That would be great!!! But I'd only want the 3d to be in a section rather than all of it. Some parks of thre ride need to be seen with y our very own eyes, and not behind 3d glasses.

CoP is supposed to reflect the past. The only scene which need ever be updated (for content) is the final "modern" scene. Asking an audience to place glasses on at the end of a multi-phase show - and not before that point - is risky. It would cost too much money to create a 3D film. Also, the theme of CoP is sort of portrayed as a house's evolution. Therefore, each scene takes place inside a house. A 3D effect does not seem to fit in well with such a simple theme.

I think what he meant by the HM being in 3D was that it is not on a screen

That would be a great way to update the HM for Disneyland's 50th birthday. But Eisner and co. probably wouldn't spend the money necessary to make it great.

Yes.... I dont mean make it a movie but to add elementes like holographic images and such. I was think they could update peppers ghost with this technology if they could make it work.
I'm shure if they wanted to and researched it there could be a way eventualy. Look at Madam Lenoa. they dont freely give up the secrets but I think the new version uses fiber optics to creat her image, I do know thats it is not rear projection

no, not really, Spiderman would have alot of differences even if HM became 3-D. HM is not a simulator type ride and it does not run a one car operation, It has all of the doom buggies non-stop continuing to go on and on for loading.

HM does not need to be 3-D. It is fine how it is, I agree adding high tech qualities to the ride just wouldn't match, It wouldnt' fit anyways sinc the ride is dark, and there is no screens, This is obviousley a "Haunted Attraction" and does not need to become anything more...

haha. I just dont want to c a 3-D haunted house... I dont think that would match up, Disney has a pretty nice variety of 3-D stuff, But dont turn an attraction into 3-D, Especiallly when its good already, and doesn't need anything to improve it.

Leave it the way it is and it will remain good. :)

thats what i am trying to get accross is to update the ghosts with 3D holographic images and change thing like the candelabra in the hallway so it appears to be comming at you. yoy have to go to the link at the beginning of the post to get a feel for what i am refering to
