Haunted Hotel?

I remember reading somewhere awhile back about a scrapped project involving a haunted hotel at wdw. I can't remember what site I read the info on, so if anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it. It was a blue sky, never had a chance of happening, type of project, but the details on what they wanted to do were interesting.

There was a plan for the ToT to be an AA Mel Brooks Haunted Hotel Movie set. This project had a good theme but did not fit the "Disney" theme for the ride.

I've heard the Mel Brooks idea. I'd love to have a Mel Brooks inspired ride, it would be the greatest thing ever, but probably not very family friendly.

I always thought a haunted hotel would be a fun idea for a resort, and I think a lot of people would go for that kind of thing.

mel brooks tends to have more adult humor im sure thats what he meant, although i would go on that anyway, i hat TOT, dropping freaks me out when im not in control of it

phone calls, lights dimming ,sound effects outlines of people in the mirrors and just for the extra fun glowing eyes in the closet.. They could make it as scary as the guest wants and at the same time they could make not so scary themed rooms and just have pictures of characters dressed in their halloween costumes. I always nuts over the idea of staying in a place that might be haunted, and i know im not the only one who thinks that way. I will never see this happen but if anyone is going to do it right its disney.

:lol: sounds good in theory... but I can only imagine the problems it would have!! I don't know if I could even stay there... I'm the biggest scaredy cat at night!

A Mel Brooks Ride???

A Mel Brooks ride would have been awesome as I am a huge fan of his movies. They could of incorporated Dracula and Frankenstein into it and it would have been an awesome ride. I think ToT is a well themed ride that is awesome except after the first drop i am done for so I would of rather seen the Haunted Hotel prevail but i am sure there is a lot of room to expand but I am not keeping my hopes up

That would be nice but there would have to be some way to turn off some of that stuff, like calling the front desk and saying, "you guys think you could make the bed stop levitating, its kinda freakin out my kids." some thing like that.

Otherwise I would love something like that, my girlfriend's fav is the hauned mansion and TOT so if they built anything like that she would end us as a life time resident (and maybe an afterlife resident) I like the idea but I am a big scardy cat as well and I would be up all night loseing hair staying at a place like that.

Mel Brooks Inspired. Maybe they would have History of the World Part 1 the Hotel. :) You know, Rome themed, French themed, spelling everything with the letter v instead of u. There could be a guy walking around with a P bucket.
A Haunted Hotel would scare me sorta though. It would also be annoying if the phone kept ringing. Although, I would stay there with a bunch of friends so I could wake them up and go "Come on gang! We've got a mystery to solve!" :drevil: :lookaroun Does that make me crazy? :lookaroun

OK...cool idea! You could make it a scary place and fun place for kids! I think a holiday themed hotel could be cool too! (That's off the topic though). But characters in halloween costumes would be fun for a child-friendly hotel room at a hotel that is meant to be scary for some adults!
I'd stay there...in the child part though!

Haunted.....but safely ! Now THAT'S a concept. My teenage daughter is saving money to take a trip just her and I to a Gettysburg B & B that is supposed to be haunted. We'd definitely be staying in a Disney haunted themed resort !!
