Wasn't the Snow White topiary removed to add one of the backdrops??? I saw pictures online of the topiary gone...

An additional backdrop is going to be installed in the planter in front of Min and Bill's also. A permit was just recently filed for it. This location is also able to handle two separate character lines for a total of 4 themed backdrops. (Currently there are 7 separate character lines at the Sorcerer Hat area- though this may change come Oct 3)

The front of the stars are made of a similar material of that of the Hat's ears and are supposedly going to light-up. I don't know what other elements they may add, but they will probably put more plants back in once construction is complete.

Wasn't the Snow White topiary removed to add one of the backdrops??? I saw pictures online of the topiary gone...

The Snow White topiary has been gone since November 2009. It was removed when the Christmas decorations were put up. A poinsettia topiary went in it's place. When the decorations were removed in January, the Snow White topiary did not return. It later appeared in Germany for Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival. It did not return to the Studios when the Festival ended.

Ahh ok.. I knew it was there in October last year... And saw recent pictures of it not being there..

Yes, they did take a tree out too. Not sure if AIE was the reason.

I would assume they would start with the new bid, Oct 3. But I don't have any official information, just my guess.

A bit unrelated, but any guess as to whether these characters will be there during the holidays? It's been a couple years since we were at DHS during the Christmas season, and I can't quite recall if they did Christmas characters or standard characters. I'd love to meet the new Hollywood characters!

Last year the Sorcerer Hat Charter Greeting line-up was unaffected by the holiday season. At some point in the past I believe they did do Holiday outfits. I really hope they decide to do that again. But even the Hollywood outfits will be a nice change.

The large live oak tree that used to be there actually died last year. It barely had any leaves on it, which it usually has year round. It was bad show, so they removed it.

Read this at 3:30am after getting back from EPCOT, and set my alarm for 9. Thanks for the tip. Any chance they may start doing PM sets? Those costumes are too cool, and the lines are going to get intense.
