Has Disney ever used red/blue 3D glasses in the early years of the parks?

I believe since I've been going there, all the way back to Magic Journeys at EPCOT Center, they've always been the same glasses we usually see today, but was wondering if they've had those for the older 3D movies or if they ever used red/blue ones.

Interesting question! I don't think red/blue 3D glasses were ever used on any Disney attraction.

The first 3D attraction at WDW was Captain EO, and the glasses provided weren't red/blue.

actually Magic Journeys was there around when EPCOT Center opened, Captain EO replaced it. I don't know if there was any other 3D movies prior at MK or if they were only in Disneyland

I stand corrected. :)
My first trip to WDW was in 1983, I don't remember any 3D attraction at MK back then.
Did you find out about the blue/red glasses?

Magic Journeys used the polarized lens system. So, unless someone can remember an earlier 3D attraction, Disney has never used the red/blue system in the parks.

My guess has to be the one in DL which premiered June 15th 1956.. I don't think polarized films were created by then and used the Anaglyph red/blue glasses for it. Sadly there is no footage of it and have been curious to see it.

Polarized lenses go back much further than Magic Journeys. The major 3D movies of the 1950s like House of Wax, were released in colour and used them. However, you needed two projectors to work this kind of 3D and as such they'd have to change the reels 45 minutes in during an intermission.

Disney's first 3D movie was "Adventures in Music: Melody" (the first with Professor Owl and his class). It and "Working for Peanuts" were shown together with colour Mouseketeer footage in the 3D Jamboree. I don't know if Disney used the cheaper red/blue glasses for the attraction.

When the park first opened, they showed the Chip & Dale 3D cartoon somewhere in Fantasyland. That one MAY have had the green/red glasses.
