I was wondering.. I am new to this forum.. and I had a pretty random question..

Has anyone on this forum, actually won a night stay at the Castle in Disney World?

I am just putting this out there, because I just wanted to know out of curiousity.

Thanks!

no, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....

Gotta love those commercials.

I think there are a couple of us WDWMagic'ers that have won a night in the Suite, try searching for threads for reports from someone who won. If nothing comes up, try making a thread like this in the WDW General Discussion Forum.

We didn't win a stay at the castle but we (actually my 6 year old son) was picked by the dream squad 3 times.
The 1st was at Disney's Hollywood studios on January 31st, he was picked by a woman from the Dream Squad to be an honorary Power Ranger. She approached my son when we were waiting for the Green Rangers autograph and she asked him if he really, really liked the Power Rangers when he said yes she asked if he wanted to do something special. When the Power Rangers were done signing autographs he got to sit in their car with them and pose for pictures , they all shook his hand and were really great with him. He even got a card from the Dream Squad stating his name and the date and the fact that he was an Honorary Power Ranger.

The 2nd was on Kilimanjaro Safari in Animal Kingdom on Febraury 1st. He was picked to sit up front directly behind the driver and be an official Game Spotter, again he received a card with his name, the date and the fact that he was an official Game Spotter.

The 3rd time was on our last day Febrary 4th he was chosen to be the Big Kahuana at Typhoon Lagoon. We got to enter the park before everyone else, each child got a free refillable mug( we had 5 kids with us). we got free rental towels, free large locker rental, a tour of the entire park before it opened, a special roped off seating area right in front of the wave pool which was marked "Area reserved for the Big Kahuana" and he got a medal that said "Big Kahuana of the Day, Typhoon Lagoon". He then had to place that medal in a special box located on the fence in the seating area and used it to turn on the wave pool. All the lifeguards and employees made a HUGE deal whenever they saw him and they even used their rescue gear things to make a bridge for him to walk under while they chanted and cheered. He LOVED it. Oh and his favorite part was a dozen free mini cinnamon sugar donuts.
I swear he is one lucky kid, I was tempted to bring him to the store and rub him against the lottery tickets!

no but i got confused for a cast member once or twice

just because your wearing a high school musical costume 2 days before halloween doesnt mean that your a cast member and i kept getting handed those red line stopper things at the california ride where you pretend your gliding in the air so ya that was pretty funny.

I never win anything .. At DHS on my last trip I was waiting in line to get some beer at the Tuscolusa Turkey leg stand by TOT and RnRC.. The man in front of me was buying a turkey leg. When he ordered it the CM told him he would get it for free if he waved his arms and clucked like a chicken really loud. It took him a couple times to do it loud enough for the CM to give it to him, it was really funny.. Someone next to me asked if they could get the free deal too and the CM said sorry that was a magical moment you just witnessed.. I know that's no free suite or super fast pass, but that was the only time I've ever personally seen anyone get anything from the YoaMD. At least it proved to me it does happen.

I didn't win the castle stay - but I've read many stories on the internet from people who have won, and at my last stay in Disney I saw the family who won that day. All of their stories are amazing.

They aren't giving it out the same way anymore since the YOMD is over. Apparently it is now reserved for contests, other special things, and Katie Holmes.

We can all still dream of sleeping there one night! :animwink:

I never won anything, but when I was sitting waiting for the David Cassidy concert to start, there was a sream squad member relocating some fans to the 3rd or fourth row.

It was quite funny, because he moved two fans who were sitting two rows in front of me, came back waited until someone else sat in the seats and then relocated them.

Oddly enough, that same day I was asked to participate in a disney focus group and was paid $75.00...now that is a dream come true!
