has anyone tried the new savings guide?

I just read an article about a new (e-book) by an ex castmember. Its called the ultimate disney world savings guide 2006.

I was wondering if anyone has bought it, and if she actually has anything better than what we have here on the boards?

We went to WDW last year, and between this board, Dis forums, mouse savers, and allearsnet.com... I thought we did very well,,,, but heck, I love saving as much as spending!

We wanna go back next year, but, with $$ being tight, it may not be possible...so any really good savings is a huge plus.

I saw this advertised on the web. The E-book is called,
The Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide.
I'm not sure if it would be worth the $20 price tag.
Has anyone tried this?

I saw this e-book out there, too. I was even considering putting up a post asking the same ?'s as the two of you.

between this board, Dis forums, mouse savers, and allearsnet.com... I thought we did very well,,,, but heck, I love saving as much as spending!

I feel the same way...I hope someone can help. Is it worth it or not?

I too saw the ebook offer, it does come with a money back guarantee, although I don't know how hard it would be to get your money back. For me, I gladly pay for Passporter and a few other "real" books. So I guess if you look at in that light, and you spend money on other guide books, then whats the difference. But for me, I like a book I can haul around, keep in the van, flip through while I am waiting for "practice" to end...(ya know, soccer, volleyball, orchestra...whatever).

Kinda off topic but, right now all Frommer's travel guides are 50% off at Amazon.com. This includes the Unofficial Guide series. You can also order the 2007 guides now and they'll be sent when published--August or September, I think. I really like the UGtoWDW. A lot of really good info in there.

Maisco30.....If I understand your whole post correctly, It sounds like you've tried the e-book?! Am I correct? If so could you tell me just a little about it... I always buy the Birnbaums guide,(I swear by it) But If this other book has something more that I;m missing....I'd like to know.

I too agree....I like the "real" books myself...Lord knows I've toted them through the parks enough, and taken it to work, and...well you get the gist...:animwink:

I've read previous editions of the "UNOFFICIAL GUIDE" not the "ULTIMATE GUIDE". (I know if your just breezing through these posts its easy to mistake one for the other!) The Unofficial guide is a regular paperback book, while the Ultimate guide is an e-book. I'm sorry if I let on that I had read the latter. I'm interested to see if its worth the investment. While just $20, I'll wait until someone else has read it and then go from there. I suppose I'm a follower, not a leader---*SIGH*.

I saw this for sale on ebay and pondered buying it. I saw her feedback was 100% and almost everyone had purchased the ebook. I figured everyone on here is so helpful I'm sure we pretty much know a majority of the tips. I did wonder about how she had a toll free number for Disney though.....

Hello,

Well, I don't know what the deal is but, I purchased this ebook and though they took my money, the download for the book has never been recieved and they use paypal. I wrote them about it but, I got no response. I'm not too thrilled with them at the moment. I buy a lot of ebooks and usually I get the download link "immediately" as they say I will on the site that sells this book.

I should've stuck with Passporter!:hammer:

I bought the book.

I don't think it's worth it. There's as much, if not more, information here and disboards. I'm new to Disney (really, just in the last month we've been "researching") and her book really didn't divulge (sp?) anything new. Anything I didn't already know, I eventually read here.

I agree, I finally was sent a link to the guide. Read the entire thing in one sitting. I found nothing new in it that I didn't already know. You could get the same information reading message boards, going to mousesavers and buying a Passporter. It was really a waste of money that I still wish I'd spent on a new Passporter! Oh well, live and learn. Don't buy this guide. There is no real new information in it that you cannot get free elsewhere.

I thought she offered a "money back" policy. Has anyone tried to get a refund? Esp. those who were unable to open the book, seems to me that that problem alone would get you your money back. Good luck with it.

I know this thread has been idle for awhile but I thought I would let everyone know that they do what they say and provide the refund. I just bought it and got a refund. So they are good on their word.
