Has Anyone Stayed @ Caribbean Beach?

I decided that when we go back to Disney World next February, we're going to stay at a Moderate resort. We stayed at All-Star Sports this year.

My son said he liked the way Caribbean Beach looks, and there's only like a $300 total difference between them and All-Stars.

So, who stayed there before, and what do you think?

What are some big advantages in staying at a Moderate instead of a Value resort. Or would I have to stay at a Deluxe resort to really see a difference?

if my main concern is to be the last pickup before the bus headed to the parks, what area should i ask for?

IMHO it really does not add that much time for the busses to go around the resort maybe 5-7 min to circle the whole resort. They basically pull up and people get off and then load on and they are on thier way. I have stayed at CBR three times in the past 16 months (it is my favorite mod) and the following seem to be the routes that were most consistent:

Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados
Martinique
OPR
Trinidad North
Trinidad South

OR

Martinique
OPR
Trinidad North
Trindad South
Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados

If you are looking for great location without the preferred price request Jamaica Buildings 44, 45, or 46.

Before you go, ring and request a room in either Jamaica or Aruba, as these are the nearest two "islands" to the bridge that goes over to the shops & food court.

(It's a geat resort)

We stayed @ CBR August of 2003. You'll like it ! We stayed within walking distance of Old Port Royale. (which was really cool!)
I lost my card to get into the parks at Animal Kingdom and the cheerfully replaced it !

Me and my boyfriend stayed there in I think was 2001. It was the day that it opened after being closed for renovation. We had a HORRIBLE time. When we got to our room (about 7:00pm) our TV didn't work so we called the front desk and it took 3 hours for the maintenace person to get there to tell us that our TV was broken (Duh). Apparently, because it was the first day opening after renovation there were toilets not flushing, sinks not working, doors not unlocking, AND it was one of the coldest nights in Orlando (like 30 degrees) so there were people who couldn't get into their roooms. So when we were offered another room we had to wait another hour and NO ONE showed up. I called the front desk and told them that we only lived an hour and a half away and that we could have driven home and back in the amount of time it was taking them to take care of everything. So long story short they refunded us all our money for the park tickets and the hotel and of course as we were walking out to the car somone was coming up the walk to give us our room key (by now it was midnight) but we told him no thank you and we left.

I'm sure since it's been awhile that they've worked all the kinks out of the system but it was a bad enough experience for us that we won't stay there again. :(

The CB is a fine resort to stay at. The main swimming pool is awesome. The food court has a big choise of food. I enjoyed the 1+ mile walk around the lake.
