I just got back from WDW, and I flew Delta. The first check- in bag is free. You are permitted a small carry-on and a purse. The flights were on time. I received my luggage both ways on time. Bring food to eat on the plane. Delta only gives you peanuts and pop.

not sure if you are going with kids but strollers and car seats check are not counted into baggage allowance and are free of charge. I believe this is true of all airlines. i know for sure airtran, jetblue, delta, and southwest have this policy.

Delta's new baggage rules:

Checked Baggage

* When traveling within the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico you can currently check one bag, per passenger, free of charge. However, customers who purchased a ticket on or after November 6, 2008, for travel on or after December 5, 2008, our checked bags fees will be changing to $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second bag.
* When traveling to or from cities outside the United States you can check two bags, per passenger, free of charge.
* You can refer to the chart below for exceptions to this policy.

I love Delta....always on time or early. After a horrible couple of flights with American, I swore I would never use them again. I have always booked air and hotel on the web and could not be happier with the Delta/hotel packages. I think they are now charging 15 bucks to check your luggage, but amost all airlines are now charging. Good luck with finding a good flight!

I find Delta to be one of the best airlines. I can't tell you about domestic flights since I haven't flown Delta within the US for quite some time. I've actually been on more international flights than domestic in recent years. :lookaroun

Anyway, all flights were on schedule and found absolutely no problems with the luggage. Meals were outstanding as well (and plentiful). Probably the best I've had in economy.

we are flying with our son who will be 11 months. My wife called this morning and spoke to a woman and she said exactly that. We just didnt want any "surprises" when we showed up at the airport. Thank you for the help.

I flew Delta a few months ago, and had a great experience. Everything went smoothly from what I remember. I really liked their in-seat screens, lots of good entertainment choices, along with informative options like flight data. Plus...

Delta DreamFlight is you best bet for a passport to dreams old and new!

We just flew with Delta a few weeks ago. We got such a good price for a mix and match roundtrip (different airlines going and coming home), but coming home we had 1 stop which was not bad at all. We thought it was a very pleasant experience flying with them since we normally fly with AirTran. They don't charge a luggage fee (yet at least), and both flights coming home were on time and the layover in ATL was very short.

We flew delta in 2006, which was our last trip to disney. The flights were on time, and we were on one of the old Delta Song planes, so it has personal tvs with games which was nice. Also the Staff were extremly friendly and had all the little ones excited to be in florida, ok and me, i was excited to!

Are you gate checking the stroller? This is what we do so that we have the stroller with us through the airport. If so, when you get down to the gate ask them at the counter about tagging it. Some airlines tag it as you are boarding, others tag it at the counter. Then you bring it down the corridor, fold it up(make sure you do this, they will thank you immensely for this!!!!), and leave it right at the door. After the flight it will be there for you right at the door either right when you get off the plane or very shortly after. We have never waited more than 3 or 4 minutes.

any more questions please feel free to ask. i have lots of experience traveling with little ones.

Yes we want to gate check the stroller so we have it. The woman we spoke to said they give you a pink tag after they take. We're so paranoid flying with him being its our first time with him, just trying to make it go as smooth as possible. Thank you for your time

Keep in mind

Well I've flown Delta my whole life, my father works for them. Keep in mind that luggage does not always end up where you do. It is best to take as much advantage of carry on's as possible. My family only ever takes carry on's, we never check. I'm not saying for your family you shouldn't check baggage, but at least make sure you pack a few days worth of clothes and needed essentials in a carry on just to be safe.
My brother went from Atlanta to Nashville, while his checked bag ended up in Telavie, Isreal.
Just think, it is much better to be prepared (especially with little ones), than be sorry.

Mouse!

Last time we flew delta, was a connect flight to atlanta. It was a great flight. Now the flight right before us, not so great. Granted, it was snowing, and it was 6am, so the passenger were all sleep deprived, but the crew found a mouse running through the plane before they boarded the passengers. For fear that it could chew through wires or already may have, they cancelled the flight. The passengers couldn't figure out why they cancelled they flight.

Any how, I know it could happen to any airline, and I commend them for siding with caution!!!!! Just kind of a funny story, oh, and yes, we were headed to Disney on our flight, so "the Mouse" was a general theme before we even got there.
