Has anyone ever had their waitlist granted?

We got our wait list for the BCV'S marathon week in January. When I went to book at the 7 month window, the first two days I wanted were unavailable but the last five were open. So booked an alternative room for those first 2 nights at AKV's and wait listed BCV'S , 2 days later the five nights I wanted were still open so I booked those at BCV'S.

About two weeks later I was notified that my wait list came through. Then I had 2 different reservations for BCV's one for 2 nights and one for 5, but about 5 days after that, I got an email that my reservation had been automatically combined.

In the past I have tried wait listing the entire week and not gotten what I wanted. I think breaking it up is more likely to be successful.

I need a place for November 9th. Nothing is available. Crazy. It's only one day. I'm wait listed for SSR and AKL. just need a studio. Think I'll have better luck with a one bedroom?

A lot of times you do have more luck with a 1BR.

A 1BR and a studio sleep the same number of people. so many times people book the studio to save points.

If they need to add additional people, then they go to a 2BR

Also, you are looking for a room at a VERY busy time. It is "NJ Week" and also the F&W Half Marathon weekend. Very very very popular. I have a studio in SSR for Nov 6-9 (booked that at 11 months out) and tried to get a studio at either BCV or BWV at 7 months out and have been on the waitlist ever since.

A big factor in waitlist success has to do with what you're looking for. The usual booking trends apply--smaller and more popular resorts will be harder to get. More popular dates are harder to get. Studios tend to book much quicker than One Bedroom villas. The "better" and cheaper views tend to be in higher demand (AKV Value and Club level, Boardwalk BW view, BLT Standard view, etc.)

But also consider these two factors:

- Number of days desired: ALL waitlist days must be freed-up simultaneously in order for the request to be met. So the odds of getting a 3 night stay off the WL are MUCH higher than a week or more.
- How early placed on waitlist: Getting on the WL right at 7 months usually means you're near the top. The longer you wait, the more people go on the WL ahead of you.

If you're seeking 3 nights in a BWV Boardwalk View One Bedroom for May--waitlisted at 7 months--I think you have a pretty good shot.

On the other hand, 7 nights in a BLT Standard View Studio for December--waitlisted 4 months out--does not have a high probability for success.
