Has anyone been to all six Disney resorts around the world?

And where did the name "magic kingdom" come from? Disneyland. DL has been called "The Magic Kingdom" and "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom" from day one, even by Walt himself, long before WDW was even a thought. It simply isn't its official park name.It still is referred as such throughout the park and some of the other international parks as well.

Any castle park is a "magic kingdom" style park.

From everything I have read through the years, there is only ONE official "Magic Kingdom" and it is at The Walt Disney World Resort". All the other Disneylands are unofficially called "magic kingdom". Such as these quotes....

• Disneyland in Anaheim, California, informally nicknamed "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom"
• Magic Kingdom is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida
  
• and quoting the man himself, "Welcome. Disneyland is your land."
• and Disney's own website, "Enter a magical kingdom where you can sail with pirates, explore exotic jungles, meet fairy-tale princesses, dive under the ocean and rocket through the stars—all in the same day! Disneyland Park is a beloved Southern California destination." ------------------------- it is "A" magical kingdom but it is Magic Kingdom.

And every time I have to DLR, the CM there have said "Welcome to a magical kingdom" NOT "Welcome to THE Magic Kingdom" like they do at The Walt Disney World Resort.

I don't believe I ever claimed that the names of the other parks was Magic Kingdom. Quite the opposite, it is the type of park that they are because they are based on the original Magic Kingdom in California.

Go on the Disneyland Railroad and listen for yourself, in California or Hong Kong, "Round trip your around the Magic Kingdom". Disneyland monorail pilots constantly call it "Walt Disney's original Magic Kingdom" in their spiels. Read the press release for the announcement of Shanghai Disneyland( "....will include a Magic Kingdom style park). I can think of many other examples from throughout my visits.

I have never once heard welcome to the magical Kingdom in my many many visits to Disneyland.

You are right....it does say "....will include a Magic Kingdom STYLE park" but that doesn't mean they are calling it a magic kingdom.

I went back and re-read your first post about this and you did leave magic kingdom in lower case versus calling it Magic Kingdom. To me (and many others I know), when someone says Magic Kingdom, there is only one....in Florida but yes they are all magic kingdoms based on the fact that they are that style.

LOL....there is ONLY one Magic Kingdom......at The Walt Disney World Resort. All the others are DISNEYLAND which is why they are called Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Shanghai Disney Resort.

False. Disneyland's other name is the "Magic Kingdom," or "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom." Disneyland had that name before it was given to the Florida castle park.

There is only one Disneyland though. The other castle parks, with the exception of MK, have their locations attached.

When you went to Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong what kind of time frame did you allow for those parks? How many days for each, and did you visit other sites in those cities/countries? We've only been to the other three, but would love to visit the rest. My DS 25 speaks Japanese now so that would be the next choice - but we would also be doing other things while in Japan. It must have been so exciting to be able to see how they designed the parks there, and how it integrates into their cultures! The plane ride seems very long, though, but we would be flying out of Wa. state. So, it's usually long for us to get to Orlando (but not all one flight). Was it difficult to plan? Were you able to plan a budget even with the the exchange rate changing practically daily? Sorry for all the questions, as soon as I saw this thread I got excited!

For Tokyo, I typically buy the 4 Day Ticket and spend two days in each park. I feel like that's ideal for the first time visitor, if you want to have a more relaxed pace. I spent two days in Shanghai DL, and that was plenty of time since the park was not exceptionally busy.

I've done two days at Hong Kong Disneyland, but honestly one was plenty.

When did you go? It was at capacity and a mob scene when I went. Most people I've ever seen in a theme park.

First time was in December and then March. The only outrageous lines were for Soaring Over The Horizon and Roaring Rapids.

Everything else was relatively reasonable. 45 minutes for Pirates, for example. I waited 5 minutes for Tron in the morning since Tomorrowland is deserted first thing when the park opens.

Maybe you need to visit Disney's official website on Disneyland Paris (Not arguing the entire resort is not called Disneyland Paris) ....I am talking about the individual parks within the resort. All of the Disneyland "parks" except Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris Resort have the location in the name. Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris Resort does not. Don't believe then maybe you should look at the official Disney websites for each resort!
