Has anybody tried Disney's hilton head resort?

Just wondering if its worth a trip. Prices aren't bad and it looks awesome.
It is way beyond awesome. Beautiful resort in a nice location, with a beach house about a mile away with a shuttle that runs over to the beach house regularly throughout the day. Lots of good restaurants located on HHI and Savannah is only a short drive away as well. We loved it. I have a HHI trip report on here from a couple of years back. Will do a search and see if I can find the link if you would like to look at the pics on the TR.

So it has been almost a week. Did you find the HHI trip report just too boring? It was relaxing and quite the opposite of a theme park trip.

My apologies, I did read it and I did really like it and all the pictures were so nice. It definitely made me excited to visit :) I like short relaxing trips! Sorry I forgot to respond.

I am so glad I saw this. We were in HHI last week and this week across the street from the resort. I was looking at pictures on trip advisor this week for the Disney resort pictures. Can't wait to read your trip report.

I've been dying to know what people do, in HH, on the off season. I'm so glad to be there and soak up the sun during the summer.

What do people who live there, and work, often do for a living?

What are your favorite restaurants?

Off to read the report. Thanks!!

Looking to become at DVC member next year and at his is on my to do list as a golfer. Which works out well... Bc my wife is only on board with getting a DVC membership if we used it in other places besides just WDW every year.

So were you at Palmetto Dunes?
Some of the restaurants we tried, and we enjoyed them all, were One Hot Mamas, Bullies BBQ, Sea Shack, Kenny B's, a pizza place just down the road from Disney that I don't remember the name of, and both locations of The Crazy Crab.
Also, our favorite place we have ever been to anywhere, Mrs. Wilkes in Savannah. It is good, southern cooking served family style and only at lunch. You have to get in line early to get in, and they only take cash. It is so worth the drive to Savannah. Lots to see, do and eat in Savannah. We have been to Savannah many times and will be going back.
We have been to HHI in the spring and during winter. Spring was better and we spent a lot of time riding bicycles all over the island, but winter was fun too. Lots of outdoor activities and tours to take. Dolphin viewing cruises are fun and worth every penny.

I am not a golfer, but from what I understand, HHI is a golfer's paradise with many, many excellent courses to choose from.

I used to live on Hilton Head (for 2 years) so I would hop over to the resort for a "Disney fix" when I need a Mickey Premium Bar! :) It is an amazing resort and great facility. It is a very different way of doing Disney but it is so relaxing and a great place to recharge! If you need any suggestions on what to do on Hilton Head when away from the resort, let me know!

I am happy to do nothing in HH during the summer months. None of us want to leave the pool or beach. I know there are some great activities. And, always happy to take note for one day in the future.

I'm also always open to restaurant ideas.

Yes. We have stayed in Palmetto Dunes most recently.

For the resident of two years, what takes place in the winter? Are the resorts full of conventions at that time? Are resort staff layed off those months? How often do they evacuate the island due to bad weather? I've done some research, but what months might they need to evacuate? Do that many people live on HHI year round? I know they may live in nearby areas.
