Harry Potter themed land officially announced for IOA

Yea, I didn't mean draw the crowds back to Disney, they will always be there for the reason of "magic". But isn't this rivalry between the parks always about keeping Universal from ever gaining ground on Disney? At least that would make since to me. Still, HP land or not, Universal still doesn't compare to the World of Disney. In result of that statement, I'll ask, what does Universal/IOA need to become a true competitor with Disney World. The only thing that comes to mind for me is a third park, but idk.

Huge pick up for Uni...and a loss for Disney. This goes so much further than a land, or a ride...Universal has set it self up to have it's own Star Wars Weekend type offering with HP as well as other stuff which will bring in the money. It also gives them a "family-friendly" franchise (Disney's territory) to exploit and add to the Universal experience.

I think they'll go all Pirates with Tom Sawyer Island.....

They don't have to go so far away at WDW...they could probably do it inside Adventureland.

It would be cool if we saw the mini-themepark-within-a-building concept come to life at WDW to compete with HP.

That's my idea as to what and where the Harry Potter expansion will be at Lost Continent. The Red means current attraction, the Yellow are Harry Potter attractions or rethemes. The attractions with parenthesis will be rethemed or removed.

Also, Universal released some higher quality images on their media site.

This one in particular shows a good layout of the island in relation to current attractions.

I'm excited and think it'll be a welcomed addition to the struggle parks.

The area for the castle/forest is about the size of 80 square yards. So it's not too small to put in a walkthrough castle meet n greet with a "scary forest" as well as a gift shop!
