Harry Potter Attractions?

I don't know why everyone talks about Harry Potter attractions? We don't own them do we? From the movies I've seen and the preview pages from Yahoo! movies, they so far have all been Warner Bros. and the following ones are all likely to be Warner Bros. as well. If it was MGM, that may be different, but its not. Can anyone clear this up? Why do people talk about it like its a semi-possibility?

It all started one fine day when Bill was walking at Epcot and overheard some sort of WDI official talk about "Harry Potter" on his or her cell phone. Eisner was in the park that day.

Since then, Harry Potter-ites have been posting "great ideas" for Pothead to show up somewhere in the Magic Kingdom or Epcot; Bill himself wants to see Hogwarts pop up on the 20K Lagoon set.

Me? Potter stays OUT of WDW. He would fit into Universal. Or some other park. But it's pretty much like putting Bugs Bunny in Fantasyland.

Because ABC has the rights to the movies for TV showings. This gives everyone thoughts of would it be possible to have a Harry Potter ride somewhere in Disney. I think it was rumoured somewhere.

Harry Potter will make it to the Magic Kingdom as soon as the tiny little elves that do such things have a spare moment (with the cutbacks and all, there are less tiny little fantasy people to do fantasy things, even in WDW).

You see, right now those little Elves are working very hard to move "Kongfrontation" over from the Universal warehouse to MGM - it's going right after "Catastrophy Canyon" in the new Backlot tour.

Don't fret though - I hear that Eisner is wicked keen to build an E-ticket ride based on another studio's franchise...

Really!

May I ask what you have against Harry Potter. I love the books/movies and would love to see a Potter attraction in Disney World(not in the Magic Kingdom). But MGM would be perfect for Potter.

I read the books, saw the movie. Loved them.

But it already has a feel to it that I do not think fits in with Walt Disney World. If Disney built a ride based on the the BOOKS, versus the film (and this would be the film, I'm quite sure, if Disney is indeed looking at it), then I'd be pretty interested.

Again. . . Bugs Bunny in Toontown?

I recall reading something a few months ago, before I even joined this website, about Disney & Harry Potter. I believe it was on ComingSoon.net but I could be mistaken. It was a part of an interview where Universal officials were saying that they had the rights to make a Lord of the Rings attraction in Universal but that Disney had picked up the rights to have a Harry Potter attraction.

Yeah, that and a few other places. Anyway, Grizz pretty much summed it all up. Though there is more evidence to support it than people think.

It wouldn't surprise me if an HP attraction does make its way to WDW, but if it does, it would be in MGM- no question. I see no reason to expect that it would go anywhere else. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger Potter fan than me, but I'm entirely opposed to HP going in the MK as well. It's all about theming, and there is only one area in all of WDW that it would fit in at. That's MGM. If it doesn't go there, it'll go to Universal or elsewhere.

But it's very important to remember that nothing about this has been announced or confirmed.

would you like to tell us what other evidence there is Bill? I seriously can't think of any. I haven't seen a white owl fly around or w/e.

I love the Harry Potter movies. I just have no interest in seeing a Harry Potter attraction at Disney. To me it takes the Disney out of Disney (if that makes sense). I think it was Grizz that said it would be like throwing Bugs Bunny in WDW. I couldn't agree more. On the topic of animated rabbits....I think they should bring back Roger Rabbit!

I would, but not you, anyone with that attitude should be shot.

Again, you have no proof of multiple evidence. Your sources lie, so what else is there for you to feed on? I'm going to try out a feature I haven't used in awhile on this forum.

There was an article on ComingSoon.net, a very credible movie site! Bill was definitely right about your attitude.

Harry Potter is more than the crappy movies most people on these boards associate it with (except grizz), it is an awesome book series that is fantasy. I believe that Harry would fit in fantasyland (It all depends on what they do with it), but I'm in the minority.

Isn't WB associated with Six-Flags? Or am I living in the past??? If they are still associated with each other, it wouldn't make sense for WB to let "competition" use their franchise. Does this make any sense to anyone else??
