Hi All! My husband and I, and my parents are playing a trip down to Orlando in October. We are spending one day in Island of Adventure.

I know back when the ride opened last year there was a lot of problems with people fitting into the seats. Is this still true or have the revised this?

All of us are not in the best shape so to speak and would like to have a warning about it before we get there.

Thanks!

There are test seats you can try before you get into line. Ask the TM which is the "modified" seat. When you get onto the ride itself, I was told it was the 2 seats on either end of the 4 seat bench.

There are modified seats. I believe the outside demo seats have only regular and one modified. The staff member there should be able to tell you which, if either, will work for you and provide instruction on what do do when you get to load.

Even better than that there are two seats side by side and when the person outside in greeting position lowers it for you or you do yourself there are two little bulbs on the side of the seat. If it goes green you are good to go if you can only manage by lighting the yellow you just are going to need one of the modified seats which are the last seat on either end of the ride vehicle. Hope this helps.

With a little over two months until your trip this could be a great opportunity to start eating clean and working out together as a family!

I would say that if you are over 300lbs these seats will likely not fit you. The reason being is that you are being put in a narrow, vertical box, with a shoulder restraint that goes all the way down to your crotch. Sitting in the narrow, vertical box, pushes a lot of you in front and the restraint will not fit. Try out the test seats, of course, but go there knowing that it may not work, so you don't get too disappointed.

I am 300lbs and this was a depressing message to read. I am going here next Sunday and I am dreading not being able to fit on anything at Islands of Adventure.

I'm 125lbs and felt tight in it...but that's just me.

Pure weight isn't everything - a lot of it has to do with build and the shape of your body. I'm 160ish and I have plenty of room.

As the others have mentioned, try the test seat before entering to know for sure. There's no specific "sweet spot" in terms of weight limit - it can just vary by body shape. Good luck!

(@Monk, I wouldn't worry too much. Potter seems to be the most notorious in terms of restricted seating due to the nature of its ride vehicle... I'd imagine most of the other rides should be accommodating.)

I'm 315 and I fit. It all depends on how your weight is distributed. My butt doesn't like the Hulk, but I feel very comfortable in the Harry Potter ride, just a little snug.

For FJ, It's mostly the front of you that you have to worry about. If you've got a bigger belly or , then it might not fit.

Hips, for me at least, aren't a problem, and this is coming from someone who doesn't fit on a couple other rides because of hips.
