Hard time "catching on" with one of the parks?

Every trip a park surprises me. Something Magical will happen with my family and it becomes a special day. Hard to chose. I find they all offer me something. I will say that we have a hard time finishing AK in a day if we're trying to see everything.

we just got back from disney on saturday from a 7 day stay, i loved animal kingdom and so did hubby and the kids, the characters were everywhere! there was nothing to do there if we went back for a 2nd day. we were mostly dissappointe with mgm, if it wasn't for the power rangers and the tower of terror we would have skipped this park all together, the kids didn't even want to watch the parade and was asking to leave

our 7 day trip consisted of:

3 days to MK
1 day to AK
2 days to Epcot
1 day to MGM

You know, I took a survey in my department and, ready for this?... Animal Kingdom came out on top! Which is also my favorite park. As a Cast Member that visits the park on a weekly basis, I feel it has the most 'replay value'. For me it's so relaxing and rejuvinating. The fauna and flora are such a breath of fresh air. I love all of the 'hidden' trails, the amazing quick service locations, and the attention to detail.

The most amazing part of Animal Kingdom are the stories hidden inside of the attractions. My favorite story is the mural in the maharaja jungle trek. It's the parable about mankind and respecting the environment. It's amazing that so many people miss all of these types of things woven inside the park. I love the fact that there are animals EVERYWHERE. I think many people miss too much and would really appreciate the park if they slowed down and opened their eyes extra wide. Anyone have a guess as to how many individual animal attractions and exhibit areas there are at Animal Kingdom? 20? 50? 100? Keep going... and yet most people catch Kilamanjaro, the Oasis, and possibly the animals in the front portion of Discovery Island.

AK is by far my favorite park, which is why I try to visit at least once a week. For me, it's Disney Design and storytelling at it's finest, you just have to slow down and not walk right past it.

Amen, brother!

AK has become my favorite park also because everytime you go your experience will be different because you can't predict what an animal will do at any given time.

Yes, rides are great but they become predictable and although I do enjoy them a lot, it's the unpredictability and pure enjoyment of nature that really enhances the AK experience.

The only issue I have with any park is Animal Kingdom and the only problem there is the games of chance(pay money to win stuffed animals). I think that belongs down the shore on the boardwalk and Walt is probably rolling in his grave over it also. It kind of takes the magic out of the experience. I also did meet 1 not so friendly cast member in Animal Kingdom, but even with those 2 issues I think the place is still very nice and I had a great time there.

I know I'm gonna get flamed on this but I really don't care for AK that much. Sure it has a couple neat rides but to me it's a really expensive zoo.

Actually I would agree with you completely... except at a zoo you are guaranteed to see animals, at AK its just random chance.... I for one would expect that at a zoo that costs as much as AK, zoo keepers would constantly be in hiding to use cattle prods on any animals that dared to seek shade or refuge from the paying customers.... just let those lowly lions try to hid behind a rock and zap, 10,000 volts of training...
