We just got back from our trip and we had a new experience. We went to the Columbia Harbor House for lunch (like we always do) and as we got into line we were approached by a cast member. He asked us if we would like to be guests at the captains table. Of course we said sure, why not. It was kind of nice, we ordered our food and then they brought us up to a reserved section up stairs. The food was brought to us like a regular restaurant. All the food and drinks were brought on real dishes and with real silverware. It was a nice experience that I wasnt really expecting. The cast member said they had been doing this for about 2yrs. Has anyone else had this?

A similar thing happened to us at a restaurant in Disneyland. This was during the Year Of a Million Dreams promotion. We even got color changing straws with our sodas, we still use them at home.

I have heard of this but never experienced it firsthand. Glad you got to receive some extra magic!!

*A fun little fact. Pretty much every store, restaurant, attraction, etc. on property has it's own special "magical moment" that is unique to the area and is given at random. It can happen once a week to multiple times a day depending on what it is and what location it's at. Just some extra magic! =)

once we were standing in hollywood studios taking a picture with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and a girl from high school musical(the show they put on during the day) came up to me(i was 11) and asked if i wanted to meet the rest of the cast. we sais sure and the brought us to this room like behind guest services and we got to take pictures with all the rest of the dance cast. it was really cool and a great memory especially with cousins who we dont see often.:ROFLOL::)

I never knew they did that at the Colombia Harbor House. It sounds marvelous and I'm glad you were able to experience it. The Colombia Harbor House is one of my favorite quick service restaurants and it has a great view of Liberty Square upstairs. Oh, and their vegetarian chili is fantastic :)

A similar thing happened to us in January at ABC Commissary at DHS. We were approached before they opened and the cast member asked if we wanted to be the special guest star and we were the first ones in the restaurant and my daughter was introduced by name like a star and walked down the red carpet. We were seated at a special reserved table and they took our order and delivered our food on real plates and silverware. It was really cool and my daughter felt like a real star.
