Very nice looking! I bet it was yummers. What type of cake was inside? Black forest? (I'm just assuming that because of the cherries)

Thanks! Actually, it's banana pound cake with Ghirardelli cocoa whipped buttercream and dark chocolate ganache. The bananas, ganache, and buttercream consistency had me thinking banana split...so I decided it needed a cherry (or 6) on top. I tried something new with the bananas which made a huge difference in the flavor...so it was also a successful test. And thankfully, I came home with an empty plate

I rarely do cakes for anyone but friends and family, but I made a very special cake for a charity event last month. A guy saw that cake and pretty much begged for his own creation for his youngest daughter's Sweet 13...and this was what he wanted (flavor wise). Soooooo, at least I'm going into it with a successful test under my belt.
