Steamboat Willie was shown @ the Colony theater in NY on 11/18/1928.

It's Minnie's birthdate as well.

It wasn't shown until 11/18/1928. That's where his birthdate comes from. I dunno where this 09/19/1928 date comes from?! :veryconfu

Mickey/Minnie/Steamboat Willie all start on 11/18/1928 in NY @ the Colony as I stated above.

He is definitely born on the 18th of November. I was born on the seventh of November and in 1978, Mickey's 50th birthday. My mom still has the 50th Birthday Life Magizine with Mickey on the Cover. I am practically a Mickey Baby (born 15 minutes too early). So today is definitely not Mickey's Birthday.

Well I looked into it and Plane Crazy was his debut. This was in November of 1929 so Im guessing it was November.

And I made a typo before, I meant the 18th of Nov.

If I recall correctly, PM was set to open up on Mickey's Birthday, and the opening date was November 18th before the pushed it forward to give Magical Gatherings another thing to look at when it was offically started.

Speaking of which, the signs are in front of all the gates now where you pick up/show your parking pass/speed through because your a cast member area.

OK...Plane Crazy & Galloping Gaucho were both "made/created" before Steamboat Willie, however Steamboat Willie debuted first due to new "talkie" film trends in Hollywood. Walt & Ub chose Steamboat Willie as Mickey Mouse 's premiere and later went back to add sound to the original two cartoons.

Now, why haven't we heard anything about a special event for his 75th b-day?? Anybody know anything?

With Magical Gatherings coming up, they wouldn't run two seprate celebrations at once. Not to mention, although its been a long time, hell, Im surprised I even remember it, they've already dedicated a big celebration for him when they transformed his area at MK into Mickey's Birthday Land or whatever it was called....

GEEZ, that girl in the show had a voice, at least to me, that makes Rosie O'Donnel sound like an angel.

Not the only big B'day coming up!!!!

:king:

Ok, we can safely say Nov 18th is the day. I used to work for TWDC and we always celebrated MM B'day on this day. However, has nobody realised that a certain duck is turning the grand old age of 70 next June (June 2004)?

Whats in the plans?

Disney gave him a very unbirthday (Isnt that what they said in Alice?) present.....

Called Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Might have the Mouse's name on it, but its completely about the Duck, Donald Duck.

They more than likely will do something special at the attraction the week during his birthday, bring him in the theater and let everyone sing Happy B-day or have him around the attraction in a birthday suit.....not that one you "minds in the gutter" people, but you know what I mean.

Micley's B-day

My family and I will be in the World Nov. 18th. I hope they do something special for his 75th. When we were at the World in 2000 Cast Members told us to be at the MK on the 18th because they were doing little things around the park to celebrate. Unfortunatly we were not at the MK that day to find out what they did. When at the World the following two years on Nov 18th they did nothing. Maybe this year? Anyone suspect anything?

On Friday, many of my friends kept telling me that it was Mickey's birthday. I think someone said it was in a newspaper or something like that that had Mickey's birthday on September 18.

I don't think there will be much in the way of celebrating mickey's b-day because Disney has decided to stop celebrating character birthdays as it "dates" the characters. Mickey is supposed to be child-like in reality, and the fact that he is 75 might altar that appearance for a young child.
