I am sure some people stil use it, and maybe even with a 28K baud modem! Remember that sound it made as it started to connect, before it went silent?

By the way, the anniversary this week was specifically of the World Wide Web portion, not the internet itself. That was already around several years prior.

I certainly do not miss that God-awful sound when connecting to the internet via dial-up. It sounded like R2-D2 passing a kidney stone.
