I was raged when Wishes was leaving, Saw this new show and really gave it a chance, Really liked it the first few times I saw it but for some reason its already fading on me and I'm bored of it. After all those years of Wishes this has never happened.

Since it has only been out for a few weeks I have to ask, how many times have you seen the new show? Typically when we are there for a 6 or 7 night trip we may only watch the show once or twice.

That was my thought exactly. We are there in October and am looking forward to this new show. ( And Hallowishes during a party night). I think you would get bored with anything if you saw it a lot of times in a short space of time.

I really (really, really) miss Wishes but I have to say that HEA actually continues to grow on me and I can't wait to see it when all of the actual custom fireworks are in place as designed for this show. The one time I wasn't that impressed with HEA was when the wind kept the castle covered with smoke through most of it which really screwed with the projections. To me, it isn't as elegant as Wishes but it is a fantastic show imo and obviously more impressive in a lot of ways from a technical perspective.

Happily Ever After is a mashup with almost too much going on for me. The incorporation of the castle projection made the performance a little too busy. It's also difficult to really see the entire projection on the castle because it's so much lower than the fireworks.

Overall, I like it more than the first time I saw it, but Wishes was classic and a better story.

Mashing up Disney stories to "get in" peoples' favorites makes it somewhat of a poor flowing story.

The fireworks themselves are better.

In terms of effects, this is probably the best night show Disney has done. It has projections, fireworks, lasers, fire, and everything else in between. However, the combination makes the show feel very busy. I would be watching the projections when I realized I just missed some great fireworks and vice versa. I prefer it to Wishes though it doesn't feel quite as classic or nearly as charming or heartfelt. It is comparatively superior but also much colder.

Now, my personal favorite night show is Rivers of Light. My main reason is that I'm getting very tired of the night show formula. It's always the same: a montage of Disney movies to that movie's music. It's effective and easy, but it gets old fast. I'm just craving more original subjects in Disney parks right now.

I grew tired of Wishes and I like the new show but more for the tech than the actual show. I am sad that Disney is going down the road of every show has to be endless montages of Disney movie clips and Audio clips without any bother of something inconvenient like a story. No surprise I love ROE, which has virtually no references to Disney, a complete stand alone story, cool 'enough' tech, and a fantastic stand alone music score. I am dreading it being replaced because I expect to be hit with a cavalcade of Marvel clips and projections plus 'contemporary' music from Disney's IP.

The same happened to me with Dreams, which got a bit boring to me. Haven't had time for that with HEA.

Fireworks you can watch infinitely, clips have the longevity of a YouTube compilation video. For all of its technical prowess, HEA may lack the primal attraction of plain fireworks. You don't have to use technology simply because it is there.

I have never seen Wishes in person because the first time I went to WDW was in 2000 when I was 4 years old and then the 2nd time was just this past July at 21 years of age. So the only place I have ever seen the show has been on Youtube and I have to tell you it has more of a storyline that Happily Ever After which I saw twice on this past trip in July, but the Castle projections and laser lights and fireworks in my opinion were more impressive in Happily Ever After than what I saw on video for Wishes.

Wishes had better music, theme and storyline which makes it able to hold a candle up to Happily Ever After but it doesn't have the effects or the pyro Happily Ever After has.

I agree with the music of Wishes being better although I do like the Happily Ever After song as well. The rest of the music used in HEA is from Disney movies. The story and theme like I said is definitely stronger with Wishes, but when I watch a fireworks show I want to be overwhelmed with the pyro and effects and HEA is heads above Wishes in my opinion.

I wouldn't say Wishes has a better story, it was just very simple. Honestly, I'm almost inclined to say Wishes was just a collection of themes rather than a story from start to finish. HEA is the latter with a story that is very complex and requires the audience to put forth some thought because there's no narrator spelling everything out for you – which also opens the door for each person that sees it to relate to moments in their own way. Knowing that, I don't think it's out of bounds to say HEA might be the most well done storytelling of any nighttime show using Disney characters yet.

Intro > Wish > Adventure > Friendship > Love > Adversity > Triumph > Finale.

That's the hero's journey very well articulated if you ask me.

I think Happily Ever After was a breathtaking show. It almost brought me to tears. They incorporate all the special effects, from the projections to the pyrotechnics, perfectly in line with the music, and it can send chills up your spine. Wishes was a little less easy to get on board with for me and I guess its because it included less newer Disney names that HEA does include (Brave, Moana , Frozen) and I'm pretty young.

Call me a party pooper I just like a show thats the same no matter where you watch it, in that case I could live without the rooftop pyro.

Not me. Saw HEA show in person last Thursday but have watched it several times on Youtube, views from both inside the Hub and from TTC. What I am not sad to see go are the 69 times they used the word "Wishes" or some variance. No kidding, they use it 47 times during the show and 22 times during the post show music. I mean come on TDO, Get a Thesaurus ;)
