Halloweentown in MK?!

If they really did build HalloweenTown that would make my year. Nightmare before Christmas is visually such a stimulating film to watch, walking into it would be amazing. When I use to work at the MK the nightmare before Christmas merchandise use to fly of the shelves, of course it always peeked around Halloween, but they were steady sellers all year. It really does have a giant following of fans, and no they are not all a bunch of goth kids that these fans all get sterotyped with for some reason from time to time. Unfortunatly, I don't have any evidence to back up that HalloweenTown is comming to Disney World at all, but from working in the parks and seeing the giant crowds line up every year at Disneylands HM overlay I wouldn't be suprised if Disney World was considering something with Nightmare before Christmas. I'm sure most of us heard the rumor last year that DW passed on the overlay for the HM and it instead went to Tokyo. People strated saying that guests do not get to come to DW as much as DL because most are tourists unlike DL where they are locals and the DW guests would be angry if they were not able to ride the original HM ride. Maybe this is indeed the reason Disney World had passed on the overlay and now they are thinking about giving nightmare its own attraction. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what happened but again I have no proof of this, it is only wishfull thinking at this time.

Although I'd like the Villians to be represented in the park I don't know if I want the next new land to be HalloweenTown. I'd like to see Disney go all out though during the Halloween Season and give Universal's Halloween events a run for their money...

I think that the Addition of Holloween Town would be great. The intricate theming and the diversity it would bring to MK would be great.

I would love to see some NBC stuff for Halloween, as long as we don't get those pumpkin people from Paris! They scare the crap out of me. I'm up for other new things though (nothing new the past two years of MNSSHP) as long as it keeps with the "not so scary" theme. I purposely attend that Halloween event and not the others because I like dressing up and I don't want to worry about wetting myself in terror! (Which is what I would do at those *other* parks Halloween events.)

I can see something of the Halloweentown overlay that is present in Paris coming to Disneyland, with its dependence on locals, but I do not see Disney spending money to do a full-fledged Halloween overlay like Paris at the tourist oriented WDW, where tourists would most likely come whether or not the Halloween overlay was present.

However, I thought there were rumors that the Haunted Mansion overlay was actually going to happen this year or next.

Hm. Whatever they have in Paris, it doesn't look like the Nightmare Before Christmas, although it does look very cool.

I don't know why Halloweentown is being equated with a villian area. Although a Villian section would be cool, if you've ever seen NBC, everybody in Haloweentown is actually well-meaning and friendly--except for Oogie Boogie and Lock, Shock, and Barrel of course. Spooky things are enjoyed by them just as cheerful things are enjoyed by the people of Christmastown. They aren't evil, despite their outward appearences. Jack is by no means a bad guy--he's actually one of the nicest heroes of any Disney film I've seen--a real dreamer.

I personally think the characters are adorable!
I think it would be absolutely BRILLIANT to have Haloweentown in WDW! It would probably remind me of Seuss Landings in IoA, but with a darker feel. Even though I doubt anything like that actually coming about, a girl can dream, can't she?
