I'm amazed that there's still been no news on this.
In truth and reality: No one knows.
The last PR statement from Disney is that the plan is to have the current president record something and have his AA say it as has been done for the past 3 previous presidents. They did not give a date.
So, the plan is to enact the plan.
When?: whenever we get the plan done.
Any troubles?: we intend to follow the plan.
I heard that... we have a plan to follow the plan that was planned all along. Thank-you. Have a magical day.
But... I said..."Magical day, Sir!"
I read all their PR statements and haven't seen this (or just don't remember). Do you have a link?

I probably should have said 'allegedly', it was in a newspaper. Though just found this article through Google which pretty much says the same thing:

If it isn't obvious by now, there is no reason to explain it. Besides this thread will be closed soon like the original one was. There is nothing along the lines of fact to discuss, it just isn't open and in my opinion will not be opening for a long time, if ever again.

I know it was supposed to be open in June, and then was later announced would be late 2017, but I'd be surprised if it opens anytime before early 2018. Things have been held up ever since both sides decided to alter their plans and have the AA speak.
Maybe thats why its taking so long. They are turning a show into a ride.
Never again? It's a classic attraction; and a great escape from the heat, so one hopes they don't permanently close it.
I just don't see Disney allowing politics to enter the discussion. If they want to re-work the attraction and only allow Washington and Lincoln to speak again, that would give them cover if they're afraid of any controversy.

Not allowing politics to enter is more then likely why it isn't going to open anytime soon. In this case it may be better to just not open it then to open it to massive controversy. Going either direction is bound to cause equal controversy. It is really an example of our times.
And... to the cornfield we go!!!
What about people that have corn allergies or people that may be offended because they had to pick corn?
