Had an interview at Disney today and the interviewer had no idea what she was talking about...

If given the opportunity to get this tattoo again, I would've gotten the same one at the same same place - no regrets whatsoever. And it's a tattoo I thought about getting for years, so I'll take whatever consequences that come with it. Truth is, Disney is just super strict about it, a lot of other companies aren't this tough as they know tatttoos are a common thing now. As long you can cover it with your hair, clothes, or makeup, most places wont even ask about it or care.

And while I'd really like a job at Disney, trust me, I'm not that desperate for a $7 job, considering I'm in college and have much bigger things planned. And biggest mistake of a lifetime because of one tattoo? Please. My only agitiation today was due to the lady's lack of social skills by not being able to straight up tell me and instead decided to make up some silly 'law'. I'm not a kid anymore, I'm sure I'd be able to handle it.

Next time maybe say....yes I have a tattoo but in a place you can not see them. Wouldnt be lieing if you cover it up.

And this is what I'm gonna be saying from now on when asked. It's true though, it's not visible. But since they're asking for me to pull my hair all the way up, then yes, it is visible. I guess I should only really be concerned about jobs in the food industry. I volunteer at a hospital and they don't even care.

Yea, I wouldnt go so far as saying it being a mistake of a life time but it may only be a $7.00 hr job.....this time. You mentioned you were in college, that would indicate that you do intend to get a much netter paying job. Which would mean you will enter corporate America at some point. It maybe corporate America is judgemental....but it is thier game.....thier rules.

As far as tats go, heck I dont care if you cover yourself head to toe. I see some people with some really incredeble artwork on thier skin. Thing is these same people dont realize that when they get older these same tats will look a mess. Skin stretches....sags.That beautiful butterfly becomes a teradactyl.

LOL! When I'm old enough to have saggy skin, I'm sure the blob on my skin would be the last thing I'd be worried about! I'll reminiscence the good ol' days I had with the tattoo if it really came down to that point. And I don't plan on saggy skin for at least another 40-50 years or so, hopefully.

If I learned anything during this interview, it's to never reveal about a tattoo you can cover up. Lesson learned. Thing was, it's not even like they denied me. I could've gotten a job on the spot had I know how to swim. Didn't know you needed to know how to swim to work a water ride. I'll take this as a learning experience if they never call me from the wait list. I still love Disney :)

It is my feelings that EVERYONE should know how to swim....it is a life skill that everyone should learn.

I don't have the answer to this but that sure is going to throw a monkey wrench in the looks of the characters if no makeup is allowed. :)

I know, were talking food service here, but if it isn't visible by wearing an article of clothing then why is makeup really necessary? It does sound a little off the rack though. I'd check with someone else in casting and see if this requirement is true or not.
The exact same thing happened to me at my interview my chef coat will hide mine I was denied also what to do

Dear OP: I work for a Major League Baseball team. Our director (former) of marketing, and the woman who hired me back in '07 once said this while viewing our video display board out on the home run porch in left field:
"Why doesn't the time change on that board? Is the clock broken?"
"No. That's the pitcher's ERA, not the time."
"So, is it a good ERA?"

The moral of the story is people that work for organizations don't necessarily know anything about their product. Even those that sell it. I am pretty much 100% sure that most of the people on these boards could win a Disney trivia contest or Disney history contest over 99% of management. Just sayin...
