Guess the movie from the quote (no googling)

Okay, okay, let me try to do a good deed for Halloween and get Letolagal's thread back on course. The last answer was Forest Gump, and here is the next quote - guess the movie.
"I met him, fifteen years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding; and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong.
