Claiming evidence of previous bacterial life on Mars that can't be confirmed or claiming to have found a certain methane signature which indicates life that also can't be corroborated isn't finding life. It certainly isn't finding life on many different planets.
We may not have definitively found it but with the size of the universe it's very unlikely that Earth is the only planet with life.

I was thinking it would be cool if they could show the original film/audio portions from UoE on its last day, but I'm not sure if that would even be possible? I know the rotating cubes in the preshow are gone, but what about the rest?

I also think it's a mistake to close this right before the 35th Anniversary. They should have waited until at least October 2.

Transformers the Ride is supposed to be chaotic and confusing. It's a rare instance where Universal's overused style of bombastic chaos on their rides is warranted because it truly feels like being dropped into a Michael Bay movie.
It's a frenetic attraction. Spider-Man is far better paced. DHS's Tower of Terror is a perfectly paced attraction, it builds to a climax that's rewarding and thrilling. Comparatively, Mission: Breakout is a frenetic attraction that hits the ground running. I think Transformers is a good comparison for that attraction. They're fun, but they're frenetic. They're far from perfect, but sometimes those types of frenetic rides fit. They're good filler.

They did it when they had to open UoE during it's refurb to Ellen, when Horizons closed, and WoM was turning into TT and was delayed. It just won't look as pretty. @marni1971 has a video of what it looked like. It wasn't as neat without the blocks or mirrored walls, but I'd love to see it. I mean...it's just the effort of swapping film. But then again, I don't see WDW doing it to appease fans. We're lucky we got a closing date and not a "seasonal operation sign" but it never opens again. Hearing the music in person would make my trip down there worth it.

Disney, let's be honest, making up and using these really thin and unimpressive reasons to justify putting a shiny new character-based attraction in the parks where they make no thematic sense and feel shoehorned in (i.e. the Collector wanted to "showcase" the Guardians to tourists, Peter Quill visited Epcot, Frozen is based on a Scandinavian tale, etc.) is getting old and makes me think that Disney is loosing its creativity/quality as it devolves into a Universal 2.0

My "possibly pixie dust snorting" optimism here is the treatment they did for Pandora. There was a legit concern amongst the fans that Avatar would be a bad fit for DAK and it's a perfect fit. There are treatments to Guardians of the Galaxy that make it fit into Epcot, and they have touched on part of that. I just hope that the Peter Quill visited EPCOT Center dialogue is more than lip service.

We're all assuming that Peter Quill left EPCOT Center inspired and has fond memories. What if he actually left the park thinking it was super boring, not enough characters, etc., and now he's come to make it more thrilling?

I'm just kidding, I hope. Wouldn't that be a stab to the heart...

I have no doubt we'll hear the word "boring" thrown in somewhere to describe old Epcot Center. Just a hunch ...

EDIT: I can already picture and hear Rocket saying "man, that place was [expletive] boring let's get outta here" ... (don't confuse me thinking it was boring ...)

Maybe now that they've come to Earth, the other Guardian's find this planet to be very behind the times, and technologically crude. Quill remembers one place in all the world that was light-years ahead- Epcot Center.

Putting aside how it fits into Epcot for a second, how will this ride fit in with the MCU? Just trying to walk through this logically...
  • If the plot of the attraction includes Peter Quill literally traveling to Epcot, that doesn't fit in with the current MCU. In GOTG Vol. 2, it was explicitly stated Quill hadn't returned to earth and had no intention to do so.
  • Groot's Age clues us in to the timeline. In Mission: Breakout at DCA, Groot is a baby (I think?), so the event of the attraction is set shortly after GOTG Vol. 2.
  • Once Infinity War debuts, it probably can be safely assumed that the Guardians will make their way to earth. Groot is said to be a teenager to adolescent in the film.
  • The artwork for the new Epcot attraction shows a full-grown Groot. That means that this ride will take place post-Infinity War, likely concurrent with the actual date of opening.
  • So, spoilers, all the Guardians survive Infinity War AND Florida obviously didn't get leveled.
But still, what are the Guardians doing in Epcot? Damage Control from Thanos? Showcasing new technology? Did they get lost through the wormhole thing? Will Stan Lee be in Epcot?
