This is a great video and I appreciate you posting it for perspective. I guess it fortifies my thinking that these movies are just not my cup of tea. I love flicks that make me think a little bit ala Inception. I wouldn't go too far to say that superhero hero movies are low hanging fruit because as some alluded to, there is a reason people flock to the theatres to see them, but I still don't see the appeal. Oh well.

It felt odd when they announced GoTG to Epcot, because frankly for years I thought this park was immune to that type of IP invasion but alas, I am wrong.

Nothing wrong with not finding them appealing. Everyone has to rush to their defense, though, lol. I think they're vastly overhyped but I enjoy them a lot. I was never a Marvel kid so I don't have the nostalgic attachment. I still think they're all pretty great movies but the amount of gushing some have doesn't register with me, but hey, we all love what we love I guess :)

most people dont care...if they did it wouldn't be a discussion. standards are only as high as you hold them.
Whether people can consciously explain why their satisfaction is reduced or not, coherent theming matters. There's a feeling that guests get when walking through a properly themed area, a feeling that all things feel "right". It's a combination of all of the senses and if there are visual intrusions in the themed area that takes you out of that themed area than satisfaction suffers.

I see you Guardians building, you can't hide from me.

I’m preferring the blue innocuous building over an exposed roller coaster superstructure completely unthemed so it looks like... an amusement park roller coaster.

It’s the thing that separates Disney from the other park in Orlando for me: they either put their roller coasters wholly in buildings (RnR, SM), have them traverse fully themed landscapes so you don’t see the risers (BTMRR, EE), or integrate the roller coaster as a “theme” itself (Goofy, TSL...) - weakest, but doesn’t remove you as jarringly from the story at least.

I will never understand how a park can be a fully themed environment with corkscrews spiraling all over its skyline.

But I mean, the unthemed decent tunnel at the end of EE bothers the hell out of me. So I guess I’m a stickler.

I've had a gut feeling ever since this got announced that there would be a tunnel a la Aerosmith right before Unload which would blare out "I want you back". No idea why, it's just been a gut feeling of mine. I suppose we'll see
