Well, James Gunn did the Specials, and that was enough to sell me on GotG being something I'd like.

Mistery Men was hilariously bad, it looked more like a superhero spoof. (aka making fun of the first xmen movie)Yeah, it came out around the same time as Mystery Men and never really got much traction.
oh, its another movie.. and Here I was thinking it was something related to GoTG.
Speaking of that movie.. it didnt seem to go very good at the box office.. I never heard of it as well.
I only know about it because I saw a small panel about it at SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) that year. I remember them kinda making fun of Rob Lowe (who wasn't there). I used to have a poster autographed by Thomas Hayden Chruch (he was pretty cranky). I kept looking for it to come out in theaters, but it never did. It was pretty entertaining when I finally did get to see it.Well, it was more or less an independent film that just happened to have some big names in it. But Gunn wrote it, and it's an entertaining film, if you accept it for what it is. My friends disliked it, as they were expecting a superhero movie, when it's actually a comedy that happens to be about superheroes. You know that issue of your favorite team book where they break up, though you know they're going to get back together again in another issue or two, so the story is about their lives outside of the team? This movie is that.
Well the reviews are pretty great so far. I have a few friends who work at a comic book store and got to see an early screening. They all claim it is the best Marvel movie to date.I just hope those who went to see the preview.. can tell us about the quality.
if its something as campy and fun as THE FIFTH ELEMENT.. I'M SOLD.
It appears that the Disneypark blog explains it better...

I loved this movie.
So ... now ... forgive if I missed anything definitive but now that it is a success ... what is the availability of these characters for Florida? Specifically to be used in an attraction.
I know the Avengers family contract jargon but I am not up on my comics so are they connected or legally are they connected?

Well legally they can be used, take a look at the Marvel/Universal deal:
So as long as GotG don't include and characters used in Universal then they are good, I think. Also can't use the name "Marvel" per that same contract. Also, any future ride can't have any simulator ride. So no moving seats can ever come to the Orlando area and have any Marvel characters in them. But, maybe leaving it open to a possibility of Disneyland. Anyways, you can find the whole contract on line and check it out.exclusivity shall be limited as follows:
i. East of The Mississippi - any other theme park is limited to using characters not currently being used by MCA at the time such other license is granted. [For purpose of this subsection and subsection iv, a character is “being used by MCA” if (x) it or another character of the same “family” (e.g., any member of THE FANTASTIC FOUR, THE AVENGERS or villains associated with a hero being used) is more than an incidental element of an attraction, is presented as a costumed character, or is more than an incidental element of the theming of a retail store or food facility; and, (y) in addition, if such character or another character from the same “family” is an element in any MCA marketing during the previous year. Any character who is only used as a costume character will not be considered to be “being used by MCA” unless it appears as more than an incidental element in MCA’s marketing.]
TL;DR, only if GotG does not include and characters used at Universal Orlando, or any character in the same family. So sounds like GotG is ok, to an extent...
Sounds like another confusion of The Marvel Universe and The Marvel Action Universe.Where did you get the park about not being able to do simulator rides?

With ongoing talk about the potential for an eventual Avengers/GOTG crossover movie, don't expect to see GotG at WDW. Sorry!
Where did you get the park about not being able to do simulator rides?
That is a restriction on The Marvel Action Universe, a proposed retail concept. It was within-in the language of the contract, listed right here:
"Within the ADI market of the city containing a Universal Theme Park (even to the extent such ADI exceeds a 60 mile radius) there shall not be a Marvel themed simulator ride."
Here is the actual contract, feel free to read, gl :
