Guardian rope drop from international gateway

Haven't come that way very recently, but I would suggest arriving early. I entered the park from that direction as recent as last summer. We got to the gate well before EE started, but the bag check took some time because of all the people entering from that direction. Maybe security was bit short-staffed.
We went to Remy and Frozen first, but that was then.

For Guardians I would go to the main entrance.
Be there at least 30 minutes before early entry and join the throng heading east.
Edit: should have read better! Given you’re coming from AoA then get to the Skyliner 90 minutes before early entry if you can. Once you can, walk with purpose to Guardians. But you’ll almost certainly be behind the crowd from the main entrance.
