I didn´t get the VAIO because it was consierably more expensive than my Compaq one. I have a Compaq Presario 701, and I bsicly use it to dload pics from my digital and get online. Don´t really need anything sophisticated so I went for that one, but I have had problems with it almost since I bought it! I guess I was the lucky one who got the bad one in the stock.

My brother uses this computer mainly to work, and it has no icons or anything! It´s not xp... It´s plain basic stuff for him to work on his accounting job. Blah! boring... hehehe

You can use AIM without downloading anything. Just go to www.aol.com and follow the Instant Messanger links. Trust me, when I do IM someone from work that is how I do it. I would get in trouble for downloading anything without approval.

You lose all the bells and whistles, but it works with IM's and Chatrooms.
