Good morning Fellow Disney lovers. We all know the story of Sam and that got me thinking about the subject of food that I'd never normally try at home, but would have no problem trying at Disney. Many moons ago I went to the Tangerine Café just because they had no crowd and found out I was Sam. In fact I like the pace so much it's now a must do every trip. Do you have a place or food at Disney that you thought you'd never like and now it's a must do at least every trip or 2?

Well to start with..Who the heck is Sam.?....As for Couscous..Sounds like someone calling in their cat at night..And tastes like cat litter also...( Not that I've tried it,cat litter I mean )... Anyway..For me it was my first experience of Sushi at CG... I was a Sushi virgin until last year.:jawdrop:..Now I'am converted and I would try it again, maybe the flying fish next time..:hungry:

It's from the book Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss....
Sam was the guy who wanted the other guy to try the food. The guy who won't try the food is just known as Sam's friend they never give him a name. BTW I love this book I use it on my kids all the time when the don't want to try something new.

Also, to answer the OP, there is nothing at WDW that I culinary came to love that I thought I'd hate. But, there are items there that are hard to find outside of WDW in the US (like escargot and scotch eggs) which I adore, and enjoy getting whilst there.

Well UNI had green eggs and ham the last time I was there...And there was no way I could eat it! I was overheated and not feeling well and I could not bring myself to try the green eggs and ham lol! But I will say that I have been more adventurous at WDW. Monster turkey legs (that look like ham meat), spicy selections at Boma, and humus. Believe it or not a few years ago I tried humus for the first time at WDW. These items don't seem extreme but to me they were a few years ago! Now I am a much more adventurous eater.

Yeah, definitely Tangierine Cafe. I never had Moroccan food before and the only purpose of going was that I saw the good reviews and that it offered something different than typical theme park food. I was pleasantly surprised. The lamb was good, the couscous (A food I never had before.) was very tasty. The tabbouleh salad was on the salty side but mixing it with the hummus and pita bread helped the flavor. There was not a lot of people there when I enjoyed lamb platter. I guess it's because a lot of people are nervous about trying Moroccan food. There are fears that it may be too spicy or the food Moroccans eat are the crazy stuff that you see on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern but it really isn't.
