Great music in Epic Mickey!

I like to play game when I have free time. The game Epic Micky is good game and I most of time play it. This game has great sound quality. I play daily this game and now I completed three rounds of this game.

i've read some reviews. Doesn't appear the game is GREAT. But i'm not a huge gamer. I'm more interested in the little Disney things to find and explore than the camera angels/difficulty of the game (which got bad reviews). I think it will be a fun and entertaining game to play. only a few more hours.

Do you know if the graphic of the spaceship earth villian that was released awhile ago made the final cut? i sure hope so. That looked amazing.

Picked it up today

I've finally had a reason to un-box my Wii today. Picked up Epic Mickey today.

Played about 2 hours so far. Here are my first impressions so far. No spoilers, so don't worry.

Pros:

- Great art style. In game, movies, the whole look and feel of the art direction is quite good. It does suffer a bit being on a Wii, but it still holds it charm.

- Lots of different game mechanics to learn and use. Nice variety.

- Levels are larger than I thought they would be. I'm a fan of the platform puzzler, and this fits in with that style of levels and game.

- Black and White gamesplay segments are great.

- Tons of collecting to do.

- The game is fun.

-You get to play as Mickey.

Cons:

- Camera controls are not always very responsive. I've died several times because of the camera is pointing at a wall and I couldn't get it to turn around. This is a very common problem with these types of games. It is problematic mostly in tight areas. It's not a game breaker by no measure, but it is annoying at times.

- Puzzles so far are quite easly and strait forward. I hope they get more challangin as the game progresses.

- Levels are a bit confusing. At times. Its hard to tell where I am in the level and I've been cought by the trap of doing something that makes it impossiable to return to grab a collectable that I missed. I hope I can go back later and replay a level.

So overall, my impressions are I really like it. It's fun, the challange level is average at its most difficult so far (unless the camera gets in the way). I'm glad I got it and right now I would say play it.

I'll update more when I complete it.

Have fun!

I played it for a few hours, and my thoughts are in line with AkiraRaptor's. The storyline is great and the art style is phenomenal. The camera does get annoying at times, though. The whole Playstyle Matters thing is pretty neat, and I have suffered some "consequences" of it. I really love the 2D platformers based on the shorts. The game is pretty easy (aside from the camera getting in the way now and then), but I wasn't really looking for a challenging game.

I think that most Disney fans would enjoy this game. The technical flaws don't matter so much when the artistic end of the game is so great. So far, it's a really fun game, and looking at all of the things I've missed so far (items and quests, and I'm not even that far into the game at this point), I think there will be some level of repeat playability.

played for 2 hrs last night (time flew by). Working in the Small World level first. LOVE the smalls details from the ride they put in there. Agreed the camera angle can sometimes be very annoying. However so far this looks like a must have for any Disney fan like myself. can't wait to play more!!

I played it myself a few hours last night - the time really does fly by. I'd agree with the others, the camera is annoying but the game isn't that difficult. I still haven't programmed my brain to think that if there doesn't seem to be a way to go I may be able to make one, but it's getting there. I also picked up the strategy guide - it says it takes about 3 playthroughs to get everything.

agree with AMH97, it's a little tough to get yourself to think objects may need to be removed or added to benefit the game play. I'm it will take some time to get use to it, and will be worth it towards the game play.

by the way i LOVED the Hippo's in Small World. That was the first thing i did on the level.

Some of my thoughts. The negative first, so as to end on a high note. :)

* The color pallette is a little muted for my liking. I understand Wasteland is supposed to be a dreary place, but the effect is almost too successful. It gets to be a little oppressive seeing so many thinner pools and shadowy caverns all the time. I prefer the color style of the cutscenes to the action scenes, and they depict the same place, so the game COULD be less dark (literally dark, that is) and still tell the same story.

* I could do with a little less "missioneering." Seems like everytime I show up in an awesome new map, I can't take two steps without having a half dozen people bugging me to find some doodad for them. I'd just like to be a tourist for a bit sometimes. Also, it kinda detracts from the "epic" feel when most of your time is spent being a go-fer.

Now for the pluses

* I LOOOVE the sidescrolling filmstrip sequences. I thought they were going to be irritating diversions from the real action, but in some ways I enjoy them more than the action maps. The black and white segments are so crisp, the color segments are so rich, and the music is straight from the actual cartoons. Seeing Mickey bounce around a Steamboat Willie world while "Turkey in the Straw" played in the background made me smile so big.

* The in-park references are insane. I don't want to spoil the game here, but some of the DL/WDW setpieces I've come across just makes the geek in me so happy. And of course, the twisted Wasteland treatment they've all received adds that layer of creepiness we all knew to expect from this game.

* The morality system definitely adds to my emotional investment. I was kicking myself for most of the day yesterday for trading away a mission item for a lousy pin. Not only did I sabatoge my intent to be the completely benevolent Mickey I was aiming for, but I earned myself a hugely frustrating boss fight when I'm guessing I could have made a friend if I'd handled the situation differently! I definitely don't tend to have that kind of involvement with video game characters.

* I think some of the reviewers' complaints about control and camera angles have thankfully been overblown (although I'm not to the end yet, so I might eat my words). There is a learning curve on the controls, and the camera is just wonky and stupid at times, but neither seems any worse than Mario 64 to me, and that's supposedly the gold standard of 3-D platforming.

Anyway, I'm having a blast, even with the complaints. I'm looking forward to finding time to watch the bonus disc sometime...if I can pull myself away from the game.
