I saw someone talking about this in another thread and it got me worried. Is it true that there are rumors of shuting down Great Movie Ride? After Indy, it's my absolute favorite!! That ride is what MGM is all about! Getting into the movies! I really hope this is not serious... :brick:

That ride blows!

Sigornie Weaver in "Alien" looks like Paul McCartney.

The film section goes on and on for so long, I fell asleep the last time.

It really needs an overhaul.

i dont have a real problem with the ride.. i just think they need to re-do certain spots....definately not WIZARD OF OZ!! they need new movies at the end.. but its still good!

I love that ride, It's about the best way to finish your day at MGM if you can catch the last ride after fantasmic, they used to let you do that after sorcery in the sky.

I hope they dont shut this ride down!!!! it is my favorite ride in MGM!!! I even have the theater on my desktop right now!! The Wizard of Oz section is the best!!!!

The ride is great but it needs some updates. Movies come out all the time, and many came during the last 15 years, so I think they need to keep moving along with the movie industry if they don't want this ride to fall.

I hope I did this right, this is the first time I have done this!

The Great Movie Ride is a neat attraction, but many of the movies featured in it are old and out of date. There have been plenty of great Disney Movies in the last few years that would be great to be featured in this ride to give it a much needed remodeling!

Disney Studios defeinlty needs a new e-ticket attraction and the great movie ride, really needs a major haulover or a replaement. come on, dont tell me you want to to see some amazing CAVE simulator in that building in its place. I my self love the GMR, but think its time for a change for sure

please let it be just a rumor .. I love the GMR .. of course I am old ..and movies like Casablanca and Singing in the Rain are wonderful movies .. maybe they could add some of the newer movies ..but I would hate it if they took out what was already there .. its funny but until a couple of years ago I never knew there were two different "kidnappings" .. for years we had always been "kidnapped" by a cowboy ...the one year we got Kidnapped by a 40's style gangster, we thought they had changed this then a CM told us it depended on which car you were in.. we felt kinda silly not knowing this till a friend who also goes every year said she didnt know it either!! that they had always gotten the gangster!

CAVE Simulator, is the same technology used in the Spiderman Ride in IOA. The rumor is its gonna be a Dinsey villian theme type ride. I'm looking forward to it.

I think that Universal and IOA are beginning to give WDW a run for their money. I have been to both Universal and WDW and I believe that WDW clearly has the edge in Customer Service, however, the public is in to E-Rides and Disney is aware of this.

I am sure that whatever happens to GMR, it will either be or be close to a E-Ride

Great Movie Ride IS an E-Ticket ride.. but it has become pretty outdated in some areas. I'd love a Spiderman type ride, but I'd also miss GMR. I think updating and changing certain scenes would help.. a LOT. Some movies just don't belong in there.. like Tarzan.. the scene is cheap, and the movie was never considered to be one of the greatest of all time.

Yeah, sure..A disney villain ride would really fit the theme as a centerpiece attraction for a movie theme park. It doesn't belong there. GMR needs to just replace some old scenes with some new ones, and change the ending..

If they change the store under the Sorcerer Hat to include a Fantasmic! shop, I could see a villains ride going in...of course, the Mann's Chinese Theatre would have to go...

A villains ride needs to be a fantastic ADDITION to MGM, but NOT at the expense of GMR! With the crowding of the parks in recent years I think that it is preety clear that they need to have a major expansion of all the parks! GMR may need an update, such as fixing the fantasia seen to match with the wizard of oz like it was originally designed to be! But the main missings from MGM are the superstar television and the monstersounds(where the stupid Drew Carey thing is). These really made you feel like you were at a true movie studios and you were part of the action. What a shame!
