Have to be able to run a riverboat through there. The fact they built a swing bridge bodes well for the future of the boat and the RoA area.

The riverboat goes through the canal to get to a drydock north of the Contemporary Resort. It has been this way since the park was built.

Not to burst your bubble, but this bridge is more or less for the Electrical Water Pageant that traverses the waterway twice a night. It just happens to also be convenient for the Riverboat the rare occasion is passes through the area.

Riverboat determines how large the opening needs to be. EWP has much smaller vessels. Same for the rail swing bridge.

Look for retail and food and beverage booths to pop up. Maybe arab merchant style chasing you down the path to sell you stuff. I think they call that high pressure sales now.

Oh and DVC sales booths as well. One every 100 feet ought to do it.
