Whenever I have taken a Disney bus that has stoped at the Grand Floridian & maybe I am wrong about this, but is guest parking there across the street from the main building? Just something I am curious to find out.

Yes, self parking is across the street.

You think with 5 star resort like the GF they would not have self parking across the street.
They tend to try and sway you more towards valet parking. We've done that a few times there and I refuse to do it again. Each time, our car was messed with. I've never had a problem anywhere else with valet parking. Only there.

Yes, the resort self parking is way across the street. I guess they expect most people to use the valet parking. I've never had a problem there.

I did go on my last trip expecting to pay the $7 for each day I had the car parked, but was surprised that I was only charged for the 2 times I had taken the car out. The valet parking comes with a card for over your rear view mirror that allows you unlimited valet parking at any other resort offering it.

I had gotten miffed about the valet when they implemented it because for what they charge per day at that resort, they should be able to provide that service for their guests. I know that alot of it has to do with people parking and going to the parks without paying, but in this day and age and with the security and the ability to get in with your resort cards, I think they could figure out a way to accomodate the actual guests and still provide valet for those wishing to use it and still take care of the problem of people parking to avoid paying for the main lot.

So you all stay in one of the most expensive hotels, but try to spare a couple of bucks on parking...

I had a breakfast reservation at 1900 Park Fare, and we just parked across the street. There was actually a car on fire only a row ahead of us when we came back, with RCFD on the scene, but that's another thing...

I was having the same problem till i started putting my car in valet mode. It limits the engine to 3000 RPM  That really limits their fun!!!

Those "couple of bucks" add up fast. By saving them, we can afford the nicer hotels.

Hey Corrus

I have never stayed there. I have only been there for meals. The last time we used the valet, the guy who brought us our car drove up with the stereo blaring (so loud that we could hear what song was playing before he even pulled up). We hadn't even had the stereo on when dropped the car off, much less on the station it was on.

Uh, if you're paying $3000/wk for a room, then the extra $50/wk for valet parking seems like pocket change... :veryconfu

I just did the GF with a AAA discount and got it for $1980 for the week....room only. It was a good deal for us.
