Grand Floridian questions

We have booked a room at the Grand Floridian for Dec. 13 - 19. We have asked for a room close to the main building, due to pushing dad in a wheelchair. Do all the rooms have balconies? Also, there will be 5 of us. I've read that there are robes in the rooms, but I've only seen that there are 2. Do you know if there will be one for each of us? Thanks for your help.

All rooms have balconies or patios, although the dormer rooms' balconies are smaller, I think. As for the robes, I remember requesting--and recieving--extra robes for my kids, but I don't remember if there was a charge. It's been awhile since we stayed there!

Have a great trip--the Floridian is just fantastic.

A few questions about the Floridian. I have stayed there about 12 or 13 times growing up. We stayed in a standard room at different houses. Boca Chica, Sugar Loaf, Conch Key. I favor the one by Narcoosee's. (Isn't that the Conch?) I haven't stayed there in 3 years and we were going over ideas for a honeymoon. I can't picture going anywhere besides Disney.

I would like to do something special and I have never stayed in the main house or even in a suite for that matter. Yeah, the monorail/restaurant convenience is definitely on my list. Has anyone stayed in the main house? Are there similar rooms to the other houses? Are the suites worth it? If I chose to go back to the other houses are some house rooms better than others. We did have a view of the castle one year and it was awesome. I know they also have garden views and I'm not sure what else.

We stayed in the main building for our honeymoon in 1991(!). It was absolutely beautiful. Our room had a king-sized bed and a wrap-around balcony that overlooked what is now the theme pool. The concierge service was top-of-the-line and the experience of stepping out of the room right onto the main lobby balcony, complete with live music, was incomparable. We've stayed at the GF twice since (regular rooms), and it was lovely, but the main building was a different world. If you can swing it, I would highly recommend it. I'm not sure what the rooms are like now, or if they are all suites (ours was not), but I'm sure they are still beautiful!

As for the regular room views, I know you can request a magic kingdom view for an extra (rather large) charge. I personally find every view at this hotel to be lovely, and you can always find a spot from which to view the MK!

Have a great trip!
