Grand Floridian Question

Needless to say, with our next WDW vacation a mere 304 days away, we are engaged in active planning. We'd like to stay at the GF but be honest - is it a bit too stuffy for tank tops and shorts folks like us? I'm concerned that we have to walk around "dressed" the whole time. Is this true or can we be as casual as we are at the WL or any other Disney resort?

There are so many things to do at WDW, but the main thing is the theme parks. So, most people will be wearing comfortable clothing for their days out in the parks. I have found that people were dressed the same at the Grand Floridian as the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I think the Swan had more people that dressed up then the Grand Floridian.

As long as you don't walk around in the nude (or semi-nude) I don't think they'll have a problem with ya ...and I think you'll find that the GF atmosphere isn't all that "stuffy"...go for it!

Don't sweat it. Folks dress the same at every resort in Disney. GF although not my favorite has a wonderful ambiance. My daughter always loved getting to see the brides every day, both inside the resort main lobby and stairways (pictures) and out at the Wedding Pavilion. It probably gets an unfair rep for being stuffy, possibly with the various professional seminars held in the conference center (that folks often wear suits to).

Great restaurants and spa.

I stayed there in November, but I wore jeans and a tee-shirt/sweatshirt. I never felt out of place at all. We saw them setting up for a wedding so we took advantage of it and took pictures of ourselves by the flowers and ice sculptures and stuff (the wedding party was not present yet). It was a lot of fun! Enjoy your stay!

Unless you are planning on dinner at Victoria and Alberts, I echo everyone else, don't worry. We stayed there June of 2003 for my bro's 40th birthday. Wonderful experience.
