Hi, welcome to the boards!
That will be beautiful! My family and I are going to the Grand in 3 months, but we are staying in one of the outer building garden view rooms. It is our first time, and we've always wanted to stay there!

When we stay at the GF we usually get one of the outer buildings as we can't afford the club level buildings. The resort is very nice, the pools are very enjoyable and they have some great restaurants. Sit in the lobby in the evening and listen to the band. Also they have the maids parade 2 days a week I believe, it's fun to see. Staying in an outer building means a little bit of a walk to the monorail etc but very do-able. The areas between buldings are uncovered so if it's raining you might get wet. Other than that it's a great resort enjoy.

We stayed at Big Pine Key November 2011 and loved it. Right next to the pool area and very close to lobby. We were facing the quiet pool so we could see the fireworks at night. Bit of a walk to coffee area but I didn't mind. Nothing I like better than strolling around the grounds. My husband's favorite is Conch Key. He loved being right near the boat dock. We have also stayed at Sago Cay and it's right near a small pathway that leads right to the bus stop. Have fun!

Thank you for your replies. Coming from the United Kingdom for us this is a massive outlay but we have not had a holiday in over four years so are saving saving saving for the GF Resort. We have stayed at the ALL Star Movies, Music and the AK Lodge previously so are hoping that this will be the hols of all hold to celebrate our son going to Uni in Cambridge. My only worry is that the GF Resort may be too formal for us - hoping not and hoping that with all the splendour there is still the WDW hospitality and warmth

Nope I don't believe it's too formal, we see every type of family there which is half the fun. Believe me my hubby and I are so not the formal type and we love it there.

Grand Floridian Café is very good for breakfast food. There Eggs Benedict is very good. 1900 Park Fair has a buffet. Gasparilla's is a quick service restaurant that also has a decent breakfast. There breakfast sandwich are very good. Have a great time!
