Grand Floridian Courtyard Pool

I will be taking my family on their first trip to Disney World in April and will be staying at the Grand Floridian. When I booked our trip, I didn't realize that the Courtyard Pool would be closed for refurbishment early this year. Does anyone know if they have opened the pool yet?

If anyone is staying there over the next couple weeks, can you please post pictures of the progress on the pool? I am hoping that it will be open by April 23rd.

The pool looks like a fortress now. Don't like the fence around the pool at all. Reminds me of the public pools around my house. Completely ruins the atmosphere. Looks like my worst fears are confirmed. They lost half a pool just in time for the addition of 200 more rooms.

I didn't even noticed the fence until you pointed it out. I bet some insurance adjuster is responsible for the fence. "Limit liability by having a fence to keep kids from wandering into the pool unsupervised."

Did the pool get smaller?? Didn't look like it to me...from the pics. I have never stayed at the GF before, so I am just basing my assessment from pictures seen on the web.

Don't be surprised if more of the pools add fences. It seems to allow better checking of ID for resort guests.

They filled in the shallow end to make it zero entry. This basically made that end of the pool not swimmable. They also made the deep end more shallow. That is not a good combination for family with older children who enjoy swimming.
