Ya know I'm gonna kill whoever invented the whole cap and gown thing!!!

Why in the world on such an important day would I want to make a total fool of my self by putting one of those damn things on my head?!

*sigh*

Just remember that everyone else looks stupid too. The tassels can be quite entertaining though. Especially while waiting for a class of 535 to all walk across the stage! I had to sit through that last week. It was nice but took forever to end. Congratulations to fellow members of the Class of 2002!

Hey, at least you people didnt have to sit outside in the rain while they read off our 540 graduates. It was fun, but wet.

I had to. It wasn't raining but it was about to and it was only 535. We were under a pavillion, but I was so close to the edge that if it would have rained, I probably would have gotten a little wet. Plus since I'm in the band, this was the third time I've sat through it and last year it was about 40 degrees in June.

Sure everyone else will look stupid but I'm confident I will look the stupidest!

To top all this off we can't even wear shorts!!! We're talking a class of 600+ sitting in the hot june sun, crammed together for hours!!!

Ohhhh I have one more gripe too...they don't even give us our diplomas when we go on stage! We get an empty envelope and after graduation we have to go get our diploamas. :hammer:

I really hate things like this...I can't wait until it's all over. *sigh*

My high school AND college diplomas worked like that....they want to make sure you pass your classes before giving you your diplomas these days.

No... we get our diplomas imediately after graduation...after the ceremony. Teachers know ahead of time if your not passing and the school has all that information long before graduation. If you're not passing something you need...you're not walking across that stage...period.

My school was the same way. Believe me one of my best guy friends complained about the no shorts rule. He thought it was unfair that girls could wear dresses and have their legs be seen but he couldn't wear shorts and show his off.

We didn't get our diplomas when we walked across the stage either. They gave us the program for Commencement rolled up like a scroll. Then at the end we had to turn in our gowns before finding our counselors to get our diploma. It was crazy trying to find the right counselor, getting your diploma, and getting out of the parking lot at the end!

AAAHH! The good ole days!
Don`t worry people,it`s not as bad as you think,it`s over in a blink of an eye!
That`s funny that You did that! When I was in High school, many moons ago, Several guys were ticked off that girls got to wear short skirts, but guys couldn`t wear shorts,So they all wore short dresses to school! LOL! Ofcourse they were suspended,But I saw their point specially since we didn`t have air conditioning in our classes.:D

Well I've tricked my self into thinking the cap and gown thing isn't so bad but I know I'll be melting in pants. :(

Oh yeah guess what....

I have another gripe!! lol

This year they decided to do the whole procedure in reverse alphabetical order...my last name begins with a B! :( We had practice today and let me tell you my legs were beyond cramped, I'm 6'2" siting in a small sapce w/o stretching your legs is unpleasant. Geez watch out everyone I'm gonna be grumpy the day of my graduation...better stand clear. :D

I felt exactly like you Josh, and my dear husband didn't help things when he greeted me saying WoW, you look like a strip-a-gram!
But I'm sure you'll look wonderful on the photos:animwink:
