Hi,

This is our first time staying on site at WDW. We booked directly through the US Disney site.

We got our confirmation today of our booking at POP with the free dining plan from Aug 31st -Sep 10th.

On the confirmation as well as the room, Magic Your Way Passes and dining plan elements there are the following;

Disneys Photo Pass - Do we get a free picture or does this just mean that we canuse photo pass?

Planet Hollywood Meal Voucher - Planet Hollywood is included on the dining plan so why would we need a meal voucher?

Planet Hollywood Merchandise Voucher - How much is this for?

Thanks

Book advance dining reservations TODAY -- many times will already be FULL so be sure to be felxible --- but don't delay -- or you will be stuck at Hollywood and Vine or the make-shaft buffet across from pirates at MK for all your meals.

The Photo Pass isn't really a Freebie. Anyone who enters the park can use this service, as far as I know. And I doubt there was a free picture involved. At least there wasn't one when we went.

The Meal Voucher is for one of three entrees, for one person, up to a $25 value, eat-in only. I'm sure someone can inform you what those entrees are.. I can't recall at present.

The Merchandise Voucher was just 15% off (I think) anything in the gift shop and a keychain the size of a quarter. Nothing special there.

Thanks for that.

I had hoped the freebies were a bit more exciting though.

Yeah, not too much. Especially since the Free Food was only good for one person in your party - no matter how many people were in the room! :hammer: It's just an incentive to get you in the door, and hopefully you'll pay out of pocket for the other person/people. Use the DDP, and forget about PH. There are so many neat places to eat instead.

LOL, I got a free pin coupon in my welcome packet...

it expired 5/31/06...

...but I don't get there until 6/11/06 :hammer:

I'm sure they will still take it, doesn't hurt to try.

Also the photopass, it's just promotional information on it, nothing is free about that.\

Don't waste your time at PH, the food isn't really that good, focus on your free dining and places you wouldn't normally be able to eat at or have been wanting to try.

We probably wouldn't have bothered with PH anyway, my OH is a vegetarian and it is sometimes a struggle to find decent food.

With the magic your way package, for the photopass you get 1 free 5x7 plus shipping and handling fees. That is what it says on disneyworld.com

The PH voucher is only valid for a non-alchoholic drink and 1 of the following entrees (or at least in March 2006 it was for these):

1 burger platter
1 caesar salad
1 pasta pomodore (sp?)

I agree ... forget about PH unless you just HAPPEN to be at PI/DD during lunch and want to pop in & pay out of pocket....

You DO get a free 5x7 photo. I was going through my docs (crying) about 3 weeks after we got home and came across this info. I hadn't even noticed it before. I had already ordered my pics, but I had no problem finding another one to order. I just put in the promo code and got my free pic (no shipping charges) in about 10 days.

Also there is nothing "free" about the meal plan. Nothing is free at Disney, the MOUSE is HUNGRY!!:slurp:

Uh, yes, it is free sometimes...judging by the dates, the OP did get free dining.

We went last year and got about $1200 worth of FREE food...it was great. :)
