Got home from Disney on December 25th 2019. I took a shower and immediately felt nauseated, sweaty, all-over sick. Took some zofran and fell asleep and felt better the next day. But now I have congestion, sneezing and sick again. Anyone else? I haven't been sick with upper respiratory problems in years. Yes, I know it's to be expected in huge crowds with people from every country possible. Just checking on numbers in here. Flu cases, etc. Thanks

Whenever I get sick with a cold, my first symptom is a sore throat on Day 1 when I wake up. When I have had the flu (2 or 3 times), it's a sudden onset midday with aches and general fatigue. I'm guessing you have the flu if it came on suddenly.

The flu is crazy this year. I just got over what I am pretty sure was the flu, as did several family members.

This is pretty bad, I wake up on and off. No energy, made myself eat soup, even though. Wrong decision to go on Christmas day.

If you could just fix illness at Disney that would be great. Remember , an ill guest won't be in the shops spending đź‘Ť
Edit ;
To the OP. Hope you feel better soon.

Had the same thing you are going through 2 months ago turned into a slight case of pneumonia My suggestion if you don't feel better in a week head for the doctor. It's been a bad flue season

Feel better soon! We were in WDW 12/17-12/23 and thankfully, we emerged unscathed. I used Clorox wipes on the plane rides, Lysoled the entire room and we were diligent about hand washing, though - especially for my 2 year old!

When I returned from WDW last December I got felled for three weeks with the mother of all flues. That was the third time in three years that I returned from WDW thinking I was done for.

This year I also went to the tropical rainforest, Mexico City and China and returned healthier than ever each time. I'm actually scared to go to WDW, no joke.

Latest flu map from the CDC... Florida shows "insufficient data," but last week was "moderate/orange."

I'm almost positive the Florida Tourist Commission had nothing to do with the data being insufficient...

OP, one of us always gets sick on the last day. My husband usually gets a sore throat, nausea, chills, fever which gets worse on the last day and makes our flight home miserable.
This past trip, I was the one who got deathly ill! I mean cold sweats, chills, high fever, nausea, and just plain miserable (also raspy cough). I was worse on the flight home. Couldn't even sit up straight and I know I scared other passengers!
I guess you can't win at WDW. There is no way everyone washes their hands, coughs into their elbow, or doesn't go to wDW while they are sick. So, I guess we will always come away with one of us sick. you are not alone!

Its always a crapshoot wether or not youre going to be unlucky and catch someones germs that are left behind by another guest. Standing closely in lines with people you cant avoid them hacking, coughing, spitting, sneezing around you. Last trip I had someone in front of me turn around and sneeze right in my face !! Its a wonder we dont all end up in the ER. I try to load up on vitamins and take preventive measures when on a trip. Taking Sambucol or Zicam as soon as symptoms show has helped wonders for me in cutting down the number of days Im down with a cold or flu.

We live an hour from Disney, (Tampa area) so all I had to do is keep my trusty hand sanitizer with me. So happy none of your family got sick.

I was so excited to go there on Christmas I didn't even think about vitamins before hand. Thanks

As much as tickets/passes are it would be nice to see hand sanitizer stations. But not all would take the time to use them. Thank you

The peak of flu season started early this year.
If you and your close family members get flu shots it helps to prevent or weaken the flu.
I live with my senior parents so we all get flu shots because the flu in your 70's could be deadly compared to your 20's.
Before I go to Disney I dose up on airborne for a few days and take it every morning I'm at Disney.
I am not one who is afraid of germs to I don't go crazy with antibacterial at the parks.
I wash my hands with soap when I go to the bathroom and that's it.
Mind you we are a family who is known to have to pee a lot so I'm likely washing my hands with soap more than most.
Knock on wood we haven't had a serious case of the flu in my family in a number of years.
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year!

The amount of men I see using the bathroom, both urinals and stalls, who then walk out without washing their hands who then go on to touch hand rails, lap bars, door handles, turnstiles etc which you then have to touch I'm not surprised illness if rife in the park. Takes a few seconds to wash and sanitise your hands after using the bathroom. Really don't know what is wrong with people. Disgusting.
