Google phone number search warning....

Open up your local phone book. If you are listed, it will have your Name, Phone Number and Address. That information is contained in any database that offers number lookups such whitepages.com. Take the address information and connect to Expedia maps or Mapquest and you have the map to your location. It's not magic and Google is not the only place you can get this information.

Kinda scary, but not a whole lot different than a phone book. Those also have your phone number and address. The difference is that one only needs your name to locate your home. I guess it'd be more worrisome if there were kids in my house, but since the youngest person here is 20 years old, I'm not too worried. I agree that if someone really wanted to find you, they'd probably find some way to do it. The best way to be sure your number isn't easily accessible is to get it to be unlisted.
