Google Earth Update

Why is the beam missing that leads up to the east half of the monorail barn?
Google Earth uses a patchwork of stitched images to create a seamless image. G-Earth sometimes doesn't quite match up the imagery properly. This is one of those instances. Look between the beams in the photo and you can see where the image is messed up and cars are also glitchy.

and the fact that it is the 3d views, and not the images themselves, i believe the image processor is quite a bit better at stitching them together.

The Palm trees at DHS are hilarious. They're just little blobs floating around without trunks.

I guess if you want to get technical about it... My point with the backstage thing though was that EVERYTHING is 3D from Parade Storage at MK (which is inside the berm) to the buildings around the illuminations barge docking area.
Because it is an algorithm that recognizes buildings and puts together a guess. This is why the monorail beams get all wonky and disappear. It's not like the old 3D views that involved buildings modeled by a person.

Correct! I believe the original "Walt Disney World in 3D" was modeled manually in SketchUp or the like.

Am I the only one that when you "walk around" Magic Kingdom, the buildings all seem like you're looking at them in a fun house mirror? All of the shops down Main Street and even the show buildings like PotC or IASW are distorted.

Unfortunately that's the way walking around is at this point. Because they're just images taken from a plane sewn together, they appear really weird up close.

Here's some rubble! Haha. Not sure if Horizons is in there. (Terrifying if it is, right?) This is a dump site in a remote area of the property.View attachment 81130

the dumpsite does not look like that currently, a mound of earth-covered storage containers(think intermodal -- container ship) stacked upon themselves, and covered in scrub grass... leaking shed tears and more into disney watertable

ohhh, you are looking at the horticulture waste area, where the tree limbs and grass clippings and the pulled plants reside, along with the piles of soil, mulch, beach sand, and dredgings are stored.
