Goofy's new short

We just got back from seeing National Treasure 2 ( screw the critics, the movie was fantastic ), but the real highlight of the show was the new Goofy cartoon. Wow, all I can say is that was probably one of the best Disney shorts since Run Away Brain, heck, it was better! The whole theater was simply rolling with laughter throughout the whole thing. And I loved how old school it felt while having modern day humor. I seriously hope the Acadamy considers it for a best short nomination. What were your thoughts? I really like what Lasseter is doing here, and hope to see more soon!

I agree with the statement about National Treasure 2, which was as good as the first, if not better. The short was very traditional but also had those "slips" here or there that paid tribute to new things for Disney (like Blu-Ray). I wasn't laughing hysterically, but it was a pretty funny short. Definitely a great kickoff for the latest revival of Disney Animation...

I would agree it was great. I also enjoyed all the hidden items in it. The picture of Walt on his book shelf that he tosses to put the speaker on, as well as, on the delivery boxes it stated Mic-k3y. I would almost go see the movie again just to see the short.

I am gald disney has brought these back and in good taste and style.

I hate to disagree.
Well, actually I like to disagree with IB, but anyway...

I disagree. The highlight? I don't think so. Granted, I saw it at night sitting in a theater filled mostly with people above the age of 10, but the reception was at best mixed. The majority of what I heard people saying was "get on with it." I like the idea of going back to the cartoon-preceded movies, but the Goofy short clashed horribly with the feature presentation. Perhaps it's best to save the cartoon shorts for the cartoon movies.

^^I actually do kind of agree, it did clash with the movie. I think it would've been a lot better placed if it was in front of Enchanted.
