Goofy Challenge questions?

For those that have run the Goofy Challenge in the past, I have a few questions.

Does this event usually sell out?
How quickly has it sold out in the past?
And how many runners participate in the Goofy Challenge?

I am really hoping I can participate in this event next year but I have to wait a bit before I can sign-up for a number of reasons.

Sorry I forgot to get back to you!
Yes it sells out.
Currently, it is over half full as of he other day!
Not sure of the exact number of people who run it. I just know the numbers for each individual race.
Just register Coryna! We can drink cocktails and beers all week!

Goofy registration is capped at 7,500. It used to be 3,000, but after the expanded it for the 5th anniversary, they kept it presumably where it is now. I've not seen anything to suggest that the cap has been adjusted since then.

Nick, I want to so bad but I don't want to do the challenge alone. Chris and I are looking at $ (we would have to bring the girls with us) and the logistics of the whole thing. We need to see what happens with the house situation before we can make a decision. Fingers crossed the race doesn't sell out too soon.

It used to sell out within a month of opening. The past few years I think it ended up staying open til after summer. This year it seems to have hit 50% pretty fast, not sure if more people are making the step up since its the 20th full, or what. Surprisingly I know of at least one other race that has added a half the day before their full, so it's no longer a WDW only thing. I would just keep your eyes on the RunDisney site. When it hits 95% or so, you gotta make up your mind to pull the trigger or not. You can chance it past that, but there is always the chance that it sold out, and the site hasn't been updated yet.

OKay, so what's the race that added the half??? I registered for the Runner's World Festival "Hat Trick." It inlucdes a 5K and 10K on Saturday back-to-back and a half on Sunday. They've been promoting it as "similar to Disney's Goofy Challenge."
