goodies in the mail

My trip is at the end of september and I'm just wondering what I should expect to receive in the mail prior to leaving. I know from my trip in 2009 I got a nice little package that included the yellow disney stickers for placing on luggage you want them to pick-up at the airport, along with some luggage tags.

I'm in Canada, so I'm fairly certain I wont be receiving my magic bands.

I'm wondering mostly because there's a chance our postal system could be locked out this coming Friday, so we wont be receiving any mail until that is resolved, meaning I could miss receiving my packet.

Magic Bands arrived first, then I received the yellow luggage stickers and a booklet explaining how Magical Express works. Other than a couple of letters trying to sell me extras for the upcoming trip - nothing else arrived.

We tend to receive a receipt/confirmation of payment. We also get a little book outlining some of the things we could do during the trip. It is personalised to us and includes details on our reservation and all the extra options. It also includes several coupons such as free mini golf. We get our luggage tags closer to the trip. If we ordered hard tickets they tend to arrive a little closer as well (e.g., party tickets). No magic bands for us Canadians though :-( They are easy to get though once you get to your resort.

My payment is due by August 30th, so I'm assuming that's when these things will ship out. Crossing my fingers the mail either doens't shut down or doesn't shut down for more than a week or two. I guess the better question would have been is there anything in there that's absolutely important? We can get by without letting Disney pick up our luggage if we don't have the yellow tags, but what about the info on the magical express? Is there anything we need to do that would be outlined in that package?

Just went looking for the booklet and I don't think we have received ours yet either for our upcoming trip. Most of the details in the booklet would be information on the My Disney app. Things like confirmation #, dates of travel, fastpass availability date, etc. One thing though that I am wondering about would be the 'coupon' for the Magical Express. I think as long as you have your confirmation # they can look you up at the airport but you do tend to need the 'coupon' for return travel. Just make sure you contact Disney to book the Magical Express in the first place. You can just call the main # to do this. They will want your confirmation number and your flight info. You can do this online as well, but I have found it easier to just call. Other then that though I can't really think of any other critical things sent out. I think Disney can even still get your luggage even if you don't have the tags. I think you just have to let them know the specific details on the bags. As well, on our last trip, we actually had to pick up our bags from the airport carousal and take them through the check point and then drop them on a belt for Disney to collect. I think this might have been because we were international passengers. You could just call Disney (or e-mail them) and ask how they will send out important documents in the event of a Canada Post strike (I actually might do this now too--thanks!). They may just use a courier service if this happens... Have a great trip!

Thanks for the info!! Ya I think I'll phone them tonight, make my payment, and inquire about this packet.

Finally phoned today to make my final payment and inquire about the goodies in the mail. I was assured if it does not arrive, the only thing that could be missed is the yellow tags for Disney to collect our suitcases and in that case we will simply collect our bags at one carousel and drop them at another, end of story. There won't be any issues with magic express tickets missing and since we live in Canada, our magic bands will be waiting for us at our hotel not in the mail.
