Gold Stars for CM

What is the best way to let Disney know about CM who you feel go above and beyond to make your trip magical? I know that you can go to guest relations in the parks, but is there anywhere to post comments or anyone who can be contacted to pass gold stars to those CM who deserve them?

I had a magical experience with a Wilderness Lodge CM quite a few years back. When we got home, I wrote a snail mail letter to WDW commending him. That was the end of it until about 6 months later. I got a call from WDW telling me that they appreciated receiving the letter and they told me that the CM was recognized during a group meeting. I don't know that he got anything else but it was nice to know they do follow through on guest comments.

I have seen where you can print out "CM appreciation cards" that say thank you and I have made some up for our trip IN 3 DAYS :sohappy: :D :sohappy:

For you cast members out there..Would this be appreciated or considered kind of dopey? I just thought they would be a nice way to let a CM know we appreciate what they do :)

To repeat what se482 suggested - first tell the CM personally.

After that you can fill in a compliments form at guest relations an use the email address Thrawn posted.

When in the parks I jot down names of CMs going above and beyond and make sure I email Disney when I get home. Some I will also fill in compliments forms for. The latter I did when I found out one CM from Camp Minnie Mickey had heard nothing back from management (I asked him in person when I was there on another trip). That worked as he was then given recognition :sohappy:

I had a fantastic College Program CM on Jungle Cruise today named Mike who was from DePaul University. He had sort of a Steven Wright delivery style, which was pretty funny. If you've been on Jungle Cruise as many times as I have, and heard all the same lame jokes, it's nice to have someone that can deliver those jokes and still make them just as funny as the last 30 times you've heard it.

I dont know what CM's may think but I for one would like to see your card or where it can be downloaded.
Can you share it with us?

You have to download the Disney font for these to work correctly.

Then I made a few up myself using my Disney Print Master. I really thought they were cute!

I'm no longer a cm :( but I think those would be very much appreciated. When I was a cp, it would have made my day to receive a card of appreciation.

CMs love being thanked for what they do. It's excellent positive reinforcement and really lets the cm know that you appreciate what they do. When I was a cm, it would make my day when guests thanked me for helping them. I had one family that came back and hunted me down a week later to thank me for helping them find a lost park hopper. The fact that they came back and found me amazed me.

I was grateful when guests were just really nice and happy and thanked me, it always meant a lot.

I did have a guest once tell my manager when I helped with a pin trading problem and my manager passed it on to me (with a pin trading award.)

I think as long as you just say a simple thank you, that means all the world. :)

When I come across an exceptional CM, I always ask to speak with the manager if they dont' seem super busy and tell them what a great job they are doing, and tell them cm what a great job they are doing *and* go to guest relations and fill out a card there. It is essential though if you do that to get the CM's name and location.

:)

WWWD Pins

There is also the pins that you can purchase online called "What Would Walt Do", I'm not sure if they are still available or not. People bought these pins online and gave them to CM's who they thought went above and beyond.
