Going to Disney over MLK Jr. day

All:

I just booked a trip to Disney, arriving the night of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 27), staying through the following Saturday. Any idea what the crowds will be like? Will they be affected by MLK Day?

I know that January is usually "off peak," but I also know that holidays increase attendence. Since MLK Day is only a day off for some and not all, will there be any impact? Should I not even begin to worry about it, since we won't be there until the long weekend is essentially over?

My mistake - I'm going January 20, not the 27th! (Misread my online calendar!)

Well, I don't know what to expect for crowds, but there will be at least me, my son and you. If we're the only ones (and you promise not to be pushy in line) it shouldn't be too bad.:D

Oh,well, I was hoping to have the place to ourselves. This means we've got at least six people there! (My wife, myself, and our two daughters, and you two). Let's coordinate and ensure we go to different parks on different days. I really don't want to have to use Fastpasses to bypass you and your son in line...

Has anyone out there been to WDW over the MLK week?

I'll be getting there January 25th (which is I think the day your leaving) and staying to the following Saturday. I don't think it will be all that crowded, but the MLK weekend might be kind of busy. From the point of view of someone who usually goes duing President's week, I sure it wonn't be busy at all.

Have a great time- who knows, maybe I'll see you at the airport!

MLK Weekend

:) I have been planning our WDW trip for some time.(1/15-1/30). All info I receive is that YES it will be crowded on MLK weekend. I plan to avoid Sat/Sun especially. I understand you may not have this convenience. I believe that Friday and Monday may not be as busy as Saturday and Sunday yet I will see and report back.

We've gone to WDW the last two years over MLK week, arriving on Monday and staying through Saturday.
Crowds were just about non-existant. We stayed at Fort Wilderness and there were times when it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
10 minutes was about the longest wait we encountered.
Going back this coming January, except a week earlier, due to other commitments.
